I was starting to fall out of favor with Brooks about year ago. Then last November I tried out the Glycerin and I really liked that shoe. It is not my favorite shoe in my rotation, but if I am looking to go on an easy run with a well cushioned very comfortable shoe, then I instantly grab my Glycerin’s. They are a workhorse, and with about 250 miles they actually seem more comfortable than when I first started running in them. I have noticed recently that more people are wearing Brooks shoes, and they seem to be leaning more towards the Glycerin and the Hyperion shoes. Kudos to Brooks for moving forward and producing a very strong quality product.

I’ve never been a huge fan of Brooks, but I love, love this shoe. I’ve been nursing a knee injury and this shoe has just been working for me. I’ve been running in the Hyperion Max for a month or so, it’s just smooth and works at all paces. Bonus, it’s a great looking shoe.

I'm so happy Brooks went, Max! Ghost Max and Brooks Max 2 are among my favorites. I never got on with Brooks, but HM2 has given me my favorite run this summer. I'm slow and heavy and can go slow and faster and feel protected without mush. Have rebound for me. I like!!!
@NewCreation23DR3 ай бұрын
I love mine. I was on the fence between the speed 4s and superblasts. Then I tried the Max 2s on, and they just felt right. I heard other reviews complaining about the weight, but they feel light on the foot. They are an amazing mixture of soft and stiff when you need it. They somehow magically change to what you need as you change pace. Great shoe.

I haven't tried the Hyperion Max 2, but the Max 1 was my favourite shoe of last year. I've done around 450kms and am looking forward to the Hyperion 2 more than the Max 2. The Max 2 does look great though and it looks like it'd work for me, but would it be fair to say that the Kinvara Pro which I own and love would give a somewhat similar experience? I also have the Speed 4, but much prefer the Kinvara Pro for easier to mid-paced stuff which is what I would be looking at the Max 2 for. The Hyperion Max was my first ever Brooks shoe and due to that experience I also grabbed the Ghost Max which has been great. It's been one of the few max cushion shoes that I've felt doesn't make running feel like a chore.

Hi Fordy and thanks for this excellent video. So I bought the ghost 16 recently and I’ve been surprised in a good way about it. It’s a solid comfortable daily. Been thinking about the Ghost Max 2 as a long run / recovery but the reviews are not convincing me. So this one has caught my eye. My question to you is can this shoe perform well at all paces? By that I mean if I set off on a long run at say 9:50 min miles and don’t get any quicker than 8:5 by the end will I enjoy this shoe? I’m not using my speed 4 ( and regret selling my speed 3) because they are just not versatile enough. For me they are far too unstable until you get them under 8 min mile ( speed3 had wider range ) I want to be reaching for a shoe all the time that makes me want to go out and run is this it please? Thanks mate 😉
@BillyBobJoeSnrАй бұрын
I've had a run out in a pair of these the other day and I have to agree it's a great shoe. It felt wobbly when standing still yet when we were out it really pushed us to run faster, even though it was initially a social 5k we finished way quicker than normal and no panting. I'm not sure if I'd choose the Hyperion over the Puma Deviate but it's not as simple a decision.
@EvilEagle5218 күн бұрын
I have the Hyperion Max 2 and the Superblast 2. The Brooks are aa bit stiffer which will probably limit them to HM max and for everything above it I would go for the Superblast. The Hyperions feel efficient and are my go to shoes for 10 km runs. I ran a HM in them but in the end they felt a bit unstable (espacially in rhe forefoot) for me as a mild pronator. The Superblast are more cushioned and more stable but maybe not quite as fast. I love them both and I also think, it is really depending on your technique and personal preferences.

I honestly have no idea why people run in Brooks shoes, but I have just tried this one - out of curious - and I am actually considering keeping them. They are like the Wrangler of running shoes. It seems to be an old fashioned, traditional workout shoe, which makes you work hard, put in the effort, you can feel hitting the ground and push yourself but in a good way, with protection and with one of the best uppers and laces you have ever tried. The shoe is also beautiful. f I keep them t's gonna be me paying homage to true hard work with all the Cielos and Alphaflys around. (which I love anyway)

I’m not a top runner, I just run for pleasure and I actually looked into the "supershoe" recently, as my son started running and was definitely a fashion/marketing victim. I’ve watched many videos and finally went to the shop. Some models that were "the best shoe", just putting my feet in it, I already know they are not for me. Testing confirmed. At the end, I picked a shoe that is boring for some reviewers, extraordinary for others, okay for the rest. Conclusion : test yourself. Your feet are not theirs. I’m sure nobody is a liar, it’s just a feeling. I had some Brooks that I loved, I bought a pair of Brooks for my son, I tried this one and... no. Not bad, but for me, the Magic Speed 4 was better. I’m not a fanboy of any brand, I bought from most in the past years.

You need to get some zero drop/ barefoot shoes just as a walking shoe to build up your calves. Those high heel stacked running shoes are weakening your calf muscles from non use and causing atrophy. Maybe some Altra Escalantes, not too minalmistic with moderate cushion, but they will be able to stretch out your Achilles which in turn will help strengthening your weak calf muscles. You can easily pair these up with the Hyperion Max 1. The Max 1 as your shorter tempo runs. They also work as a good 5k to 10k race shoe. Good deals on them now at under $100 in the states. The Hyperion Max 2 could be your long run recovery half to full marathon shoe. Both of these shoes are great if you like a prominent rocker that quickly and smoothly rolls you foward. If you like something more traditional with a slighter rocker then Hyperion 2 might work better for you.

What conflict of interest? This is a terrific shoe. I find his reviews perfectly fair across the board--all brands. He doesn’t have equal praise for all Brooks shoes and he transparently mentions the link. Nothing is stopping you from watching any number of other reviewers’ opinions. So many major reviewers (influencers in reality) have received free shoes and a lot of opportunities to travel to promotional events sponsored by brands. Eg. Kofuzi and BITR traveling to adidas, ASICS and New Balance sponsored marathons and demos with parties and all kinds of perks. Yet, I hear honest opinions from them and if they recused themselves from reviewing every shoe that is sent them they wouldn’t be able to sustain their presence.

I’ve tried them and loved them and planning to purchase a pair. Granted, I liked the Hyperion Tempo quite a lot for a certain use case, but this one is outstanding if 1. You aren’t a lover of huge stack mushy midsoles (such as the NB More) and 2. If they fit you well and the midsole roll geometry suits your gait. I also loved the Brooks Ghost Max and literally wore it to death, and hadn’t bought a Brooks shoe in years before the aforementioned models. Both this and the Ghost Max worked for me as a very petite 5’3” 102 lb female. I tried the SuperBlast and the NovaBlast and though they were lighter and fun, they felt incredibly bulky and clumsy for my build, so less nimble.
