Broome's HIDDEN GEMS! Exploring Coconut Wells and Roebuck Bay in UNIMOG Expedition Truck (Eps.26)

After getting some local tips, we take you to some of the not so well known places and things to do in Broome. We start off at Coconut Wells, and while this spot is well known, there is something to do here that's a bit of local knowledge. On 9+ Meter tides the lagoon at Coconut Wells floods and if you walk out to the start of the floodway to be there about half an hour to 45 min before the high tide, you can jump in there and the water rushing into the lagoon will take you all the way back to the car park. It's definitely an experience you don't want to miss during the king tides in Broome (the other being a cable beach sunset).
Another spot(s) we went to were along Crab Creek Rd., which is a pretty corrugated road along Roebuck Bay, but the rough road is worth it. There are heaps of picturesque spots to check out and we happened to stop at the Solitary tree for a bit longer to see the difference in tides. It was a beautiful spot and well worth the visit.

Mad that you did the Coconut Wells floods; curious to know how many crocs were in the area? I'd want to do it in slightly clearer water if they were about. I know sharks and fish like to swim with the tides as well. Makes great views for us though, much appreciated. I would have probably spent longer than 9 days there as well!! Keep on truckin XX

Thank you!! Well the locals say it is safe there as it only floods on the very high tides (otherwise it is dry). But it does go through your mind that 5 km up the beach is Willie Creek where there are heaps of Crocs....

what are the temp guages on the dash? portals & gearbox? looks like you have lots of new things in your cab, would be cool to see what upgrades you have done. Interested in your cab AC too.

They are for diffs and portals. We have an engine guard for engine block and gearbox. Yes we have to do a full tour soon! We are working on one last major project and then we should be able to show you all!!
