Some fun facts about Wouldn't You Like and Hermes Why he might be helping: 1. Hermes is also a god of travelers and has trickster/chaos vibes, so he does tend to just give mortals magical stuff to see what happens 2. Ody is Hermes' great grandson 3. Not sure of this one but Hermes and Circe might be ex's Also, the belting at the end is actually Ody and is supposed to represent the Holy Moly kicking in and giving him some god-like power

I always enjoy Eury going into "Military Cadence"... at least that's what I call it. Also yeah you called it sooo... umm... Eury's right, she can't be killed. Technically she can get heavily disabled but not dead. Edit: If I remember right he shows up and essentially says "Athena says you need some help... so here's the downlow and a gift." Because Hermes loves chaos... one of the few gods that you can safely accept help from. You just have to worry if he also decided to help the other side. Also the most accepted heritage for Ody is that Hermes is his Great Grandfather on the Maternal side.

People criticize Eurylochus for wanting to flee, but the thing is, as far as he knew, the men who were turned into pigs were as good as dead. He wanted to protect the rest of the crew, including Odysseus. People act like he took everybody but Odysseus. No, he took a small scouting party. If only Odysseus had stayed behind, everything would be _his_ fault for staying back while his men risk encountering danger. Honestly, had Hermes not shown up, Odysseus's decision to go save them (with no plan whatsoever on how to handle a woman who can turn men into pigs and is a goddess) would've gotten him turned into a pig too, if he didn't get himself killed.

I did music class (Jazz and rock band as the drummer) and theatre/drama in HS they weren't combined this was in late 90's so when you mentioned 90's nostalgia I got it. in the 00's is when I hit the clubbing scene and like this I would just sit and break down my favorite tracks from the clubs. Elder millennial shenanigans from a music based family. So I only discovered Epic through a tiktok skit from Troy as Hermes Tayla as Circe talking about Tea and how it tasted like a father's approval (nothing was sung) but as someone who grew up with Greek mythology from my mother I thought it was hilarious, then reading the comments realized it was them in Ithaca for the watch party of Epic, and boom here I am watching trained music professionals reacting to it.

The thing about Hamilton is that Lin-Manuel Miranda doesn't put anything in without meaning. He had a few historical mistakes because he forgot about certain things that in the long run aren't entirely relevant to the show, but with the music, everything has meaning, right from the opening music. There's an insane amount of stuff to cover, so as good at noticing musical details as you are, even you won't catch everything. Not to mention the visual details.

Oh, a thing I forgot to mention back in "Keep your friends close" that I was reminded of now that you said how good Talia and Teagan are: Jorge specifically advertised all his auditions as "You can audition for any of the roles no matter what gender you are" because he wanted to be absolutely sure that they found the voices he felt could best portray the characters. So Talia, for instance, originally sent in an audition for the role of Zeus. And I believe the singer of Aeolus was on a song (that was later cut) called "let me be your light" where she was voicing Polites (it was prior to the casting for the role). Another example is that I believe the guy voicing Antonious (one of the suitors) originally auditioned for Thiresias but Jorge suggested the other role as he thought that voice would fit better for that role.

Hermes was DEFINITELY a party god lol. He probably had the most demigod kids out of the entire Olympic pantheon lol. He's pretty much the only true trickster god the Greeks had, as you can probably tell considering he was the god of thieves, merchants, and shepherds all at once. So shepherds would pray to Hermes to keep thieves away from their animals and to get a better deal from the merchants, the merchants would pray to him to cheat the shepherd and stop the thieves, and the thieves would pray to him to get away with stealing from both the shepherd and the merchant. 🤣 He was also the god of travelers, sleep, language, luck, fertility, and music. He's exemplifies the old quote "A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.". He was one of the very few gods to be on good terms with everyone and shared the title of Zeus' favorite kid with Athena so he could get away with pretty much anything!
