I can't thank you enough for this video. I have had one of these carriages (an older model) sitting in a box here for about 8 years, having absolutely no idea how to operate it. And so in 31.17 seconds I learned all about it. This video will become an invaluable resource for me, so that I can actually get it set up and working. A million times - thank you!

Very helpful and clear - thank you! I think the reason we put the end stitches onto the gate pegs is not so that the cast-off doesn't become to tight, it's to stop the knitting dropping down as each stitch is cast-off. It supports the knitting and keeps it attached to bed.

Thank you so much for doing this video. I also have a 965i and a KG 93 garter carriage BUT….. I haven’t used either for two years and had forgotten how to set it up! So, with your help I have familiarised myself with how to set both up to knit again. I didn’t want to risk pressing this or that for fear of breaking something……so easily done! 😅

Great video! Thank you! I'm just wondering if you can use the garter carriage whilst the machine is at an angle with the ribber clamps. I want to do some garter carriage work and then transfer to the ribber to do english rib on the same piece and it would be a huge faff to have to change clamps halfway through. Thanks!

Thank you Alex for such a brilliant instructional video. The sweater is so good particularly, the neckband. Did you do a cut and sew neckline? Kindest regards
@Thesweaterfactory3 жыл бұрын
You’re welcome, and thank you so much. No, the front neckline was shaped and then the whole neckline I held against the machine and guessed the number of needles, I cast on and knit the neck bank, folded it and then hooked the neckline edge onto the needles, knitted a row and then cast off. 🙂
@annecain33013 жыл бұрын
Now that is amazing, to not only decrease on the neckline with a G carriage but also have the pattern matching. Kindest regards

what does the capital E mean after the pattern number? I was trying to delete all the 900 patterns so I could start again . i entered 888 and it came up 888E. the screen did not go blank as you said it would. the machine is a Brother KH 930
@Trade_the_easy_way11 ай бұрын
Does the mast that you cast off on come with the KG95 or is that on the knitting machine. I'm a complete newbie and have been given a KG95, thank you.
@Thesweaterfactory11 ай бұрын
Are you referring to the entire tension mast or just the top piece? Early models came with an extra top piece of mast but it is not required for the KG95 as this model is meant for later models of Brother machine, which were set up for s garter carriage already. As long as you have a brother model with the slotted back rails on the needle bed, you don’t need any add ons.

@Thesweaterfactory3 жыл бұрын
Hello, thank you for your kind words. The 970 was Brothers last machine. Last electronic machine anyway. It was similar to the 965i, however it had a separate console with upgraded on screen features. It was a good model and if everything works you’ll swing! 🙂 Having the ribber doubles your possibilities. You have a good model. 🙂

Alex My GC has will no longer turn around when it meets the needles after the initial cast on. Do you know if there’s a quick fix? Much appreciated!
@Thesweaterfactory3 жыл бұрын
After the cast on, did you make sure the bottom leaver is set to the direction the carriage is going back (the right) and that the top and middle leavers are set to the left?
@helenprice3143 жыл бұрын
Thesweaterfactory I did. But The Answer Lady which discusses the row direction levers and a possible fix. It works if I change direction levers after each row but I need to sit and watch which is incredibly tedious!
