I am an IT professional and have been recommending and installing Brother Mfc b&w lase printers for many years. I love the Brother interface in the pc. In the MAC you dont get to see it so much, but on the Pc you get a very robust easy to use software package that helps you fax and scan and customize these functions and allows the use to access these functions on the PC as well as the device. Btw my kids use the fax machine all the time for home work assignments when they forget a book.

I heard a lot of good things about this brand but never really considered purchasing one. I own the HP Deskjet F4180 and it completes basic needs but not the business needs that we want it to. This printer does with extra features. Thanks!

I skimmed but did you even mention that it prints larger A3/11x17” prints? That’s literally the main reason many are interested in it.

Excellent review. I have same model and have been using it since Jan this year (Currys £129.99). I agree with your comments completely. The A3 function is extremely useful.

I have been using brother device (DCP-365CN) for about 3-4 years and never had any problem with it. I think that brother devices are one of the best. And the most important feature for students: ink cartridges are very efficient and very cheap (20-25zł which is about 4-5 GBP for each). And I have one question about MFC-J4510DW: when you scan documents automaticly, doest it scan both sides of document?

One more thing about brother. The phone number is printed on the second or third page of the instruction book easy to find. And they answer very fast. In the USA, when i call with a question or for support i get someone who is in North America and is knowledgable and not reading from a book. Or distracted by kids screaming in the background.

Great review but I wish you could do some reviews in laser printers. They don't have the crappy problem of ink drying out all the time. My experience with inkjet printers has been awful. But laser printers use powder so they never dry out unlike the ink in a inkjet printer.

Brother makes more durable printers than other brands you mentioned in my personal experience. If you are in the market for a large scale office/work printer, get a brother.

Nice review. I have read also that this Brother printer automatically cleans the print head every 5-6 days (even if tuned off). So no problems at all with the print head. Anyone can confirm this? I like the position of the cartridges, it's perfect for a ciss because they don't move. Looks too good to be real :).

Hi, I have a Brother MFC-J4510DW which I love but today it decided to stop working. It's not even a year old. I tried to wirelessly print some documents and it did not start printing. I unplugged it and plugged it back in again and when it turned on, it said: "all systems are locked down" How can I get my printer to work again. I'm so upset because it really is a great printer! Can you offer some suggestions for me? Now I cannot even get it to turn on at all.

Every time I go to use my MFC-J4510DW I have to reconfigure the wifi settings because it says that it has no Station ID. So I go through the wifi wizard again, pick the SSID from the list, enter the wifi key, and then it prints out a WLAN Report and the document I already tried to print. I wish this printer would just remember the wifi settings.

My POShit HP went tits up just cuz it couldn't detect the Black cartridge! I will never buy HP, or the other ink ripoff brands. I just ordered this model and pretty impressed with the features and cheap ink! The super large cartridges are available. i used to have to refill the HP's ink 2X a week, which pissed me off. Read a lot of good things about Brother, even have a Brother laser, so I will now buy only Brother printers. I can't wait to print 11x17 for Autocad drawings.

I have owned quite a few multi function printers... With this one, you can not print envelopes or labels... the rear feeder is horrible!!!!! I am trying to find videos to understand how to fix this and no one seems to discuss the errors you will get when trying t print on anything but regular paper.

I have had or used several printers over the years but I have never, ever come across anything as awful as this printer. It is a waste of time and a shame for Brother to even place such a product on the market. Ask around, don't decide on the basis of this video.

They should really ditch the fax feature, who really still uses that? Especially since many printers on this price range already comes with wifi and some can even upload and download files to the cloud.
