When I try to scan I get a red X on the display screen when it is trying to connect to the PC. But I have a Mac. Do I have to do something special?

It looks like a very good machine but with a couple of design issues. Are the only USB ports really inside of the machine? Who thought that would be a good idea? I would be getting it mainly for 11x17 printing as well so the back slot seems like a bit of a pain.

***** What you failed to mention (and the only reason I was watching this) is that the A3 (US Ledger or Tabloid) is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to align properly. On my machine the A3 guides seem to be slightly out and the best I can get with careful pulling and tugging, is about one in three acceptably aligned and NONE perfectly aligned. Basically I am throwing away two sheets for every one I live with!

What am I doing wrong I just set one of these prints up and the first test page came out ok but the other prints are such poor quality?

Poor quality prints could point to a fault with the machine, but it’s more likely to be an issue with the settings in the driver in relation to the type of paper being used and the type of thing you are printing. If you could provide us with some information on the type of things you are printing (documents or images), the type of paper you are using and the specifics of the quality issue you are having we should be able to advise the best way to resolve the problem for you. Its a clunker. This is a classic "kitchen table" review where the manufacturer's specs are repeated as if its a real review. I've had mine for about a year and am about to throw it away. Have spent more time struggling with print quality than actually using it. Ink is used up at a prodigious rate and that is where the real money is made. Reminds me of an English Car of the seventies. Looks good but it just does not work well at all. Photo printing quality marginal.
