What does the paper towel do? Can you show that? Also it would be more helpful if you showed all the steps from unpacking, warming, drawing fluid in how much through completion ending with running a final print report. Thanks

The fluid is being pushed through the print heads, the paper towel is absorbing it so it doesn't just go into the printer.

So I pushed cleaning solution through to Brother MFC-250C printhead, I've done it and each ink passage goes all the way through to the printhead as shown by soaked paper towel placed underneath, no clogs, then ran several test prints and printhead cleanings and only got maybe a faint print from the cyan, then nothing. Is the circuitry broken or something? The printer seems to think everything is fine. Do I do it again even though it's not clogged? If so, how much solution should I push through each time? Stuff ain't cheap

Make sure the Cyan ink cartridge is full, if it isnt then you wont be able to get that vibrant quality back.

@@BestPrinters yeah, full set of new cartridges. I've read, and experienced, these things can suddenly wake up. So I'll run solution through periodically and try again

i tried on MFC-J2720. alot of ink soak on the paper towel and then paper towel become clean after few tries of pushing solution in. when power on, printer prompt no colour volumn detect, except for black. Please advise what happen.

how do you heat the fluid up? Microwave, hot water bath (au bain marie),...?

So where does all the cleaning fluid go to? What about the paper towel under the print head? You just leave it there permanently? What was it's purpose?

I had to watch another, more informative video to get the answer to this. The cleaning fluid comes out of the printer head onto the folded paper towel. From what I saw, you probably want to use a larger paper towel as well since the volume of fluid equal to the amount you inject comes out and that tiny folded paper towel used in this video probably didn't catch all the liquid. My guess is that's why they didn't show the final clean up in the video. Not sure what 'best printers' is supposed to be best at but it isn't making instructional videos.

What chemical is in the kit ? Acetone, isopropyl alcohol ??

! Don't use acetone ! It can dissolve many kinds of plastic. Cleaning fluids usually based on isopropyl alcohol (aka isopropanol) in solution with distilled water. I'm not sure of exact dilution ratio. Maybe 25 % first try, and if not doing the job, increase the strength gradually. Isopropyl alcohol is fairly non aggressive. Anyone else any ideas on the fluid?

Switch on the printer, while it's going through it startup routine, unplug the power, and you should have the head stop at midway along its carriage. Then it can be moved to the left or right. Or when printer is on, press "stop/exit" button for 5 seconds. The print head should then move to center carriage position and be free to move.
