He literally didn’t care what others did or thought, he simply did what he knew worked for him and his viewers. He was the very first guy I discovered on KZbin when I became an enthusiast, and I always reverted back to my first impression of him every time I hit the range. Roy asked to keep religion and politics out of the comments, but I wasn't sure (don't remember) if that was his wish or Paul's. Probably Paul's. Nobody questioned him and everybody had so much respect and admiration for his expertise, demeanor, wealth of knowledge and approach to teaching. He was funny, entertaining and most of all humble. He never claimed to be "right" about _anything._ He just spoke to his decades of experience and it created an environment where anyone could feel comfortable who wanted to learn about firearms and firearms safety. What could I possibly say that would be adequate? This man caught my eye the first time I watched one of his videos…something different about this guy; cream rises to the top. Paul Harrell had a flair, an insight, a perspective, and an intellect unlike anyone I’ve seen. Upon death, it is commonplace to overstate one’s impact on others but on this occasion, overstatement would not be possible. Paul Harrell is truly a great man whose absence will be sorely missed. The world is a lesser place without Paul.

Paul Harrell was a part of my support system while I was going through aggressive chemo and numerous surgeries including a Whipple procedure in order to survive an early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. About 5% survive. Losing Paul is tragic. My condolences to Roy and all of Paul’s family and friends. He will always be remembered at my house❤

I started watching Paul when I was 30 years old. Just getting into carrying a firearm. I watched a lot of his videos the bed on the range was amazing. His meat targets were so knowledgeable. I will truly miss him the rest of lifetime. Thanks Roy for doing this and more importantly letting us know your brother was saved. I know I will see him again with our savior. His video was randomly recommended to me by youtube. If I remember it correctly, it is a Beretta video. He only had around 10k subs back then. I watched it and his other videos and thought "damn, this guy should have more subs". Then I saw his channel grow yearly yet his videos and he as a youtuber remained the same... I think there’s a lot of rhetoric saying liberals don’t own or appreciate guns but that’s exactly what it is… rhetoric. There are many who do but the current political polarization would make you think otherwise.

@@cbbees1468the Democrat party is an amalgamation of ideologies that all fall under the same umbrella, same goes for the other side of the isle. I assume the Democrat voters who want socially liberal policies probably won't vote Republican even though they are more likely to expand gun rights.

Roy if you see this please know your brother has really been in our thoughts. His passing was like losing an old friend that many of us never met in person. It’s a true regret that I never got to meet him in person. It really hit a lot of us quite hard. The world is a bit darker without him.
