As a card maker, I can see the benefit of this. I have tons of stencils, but now I can scan them and cut them from paper or card stock to use on my cards. In the case of larger ones like the butterflies, I can just select the portion of the pattern I want to use before cutting. Happy news!

Thankyou for the lesson again, I am certainly learning, it is easier to watch than read the instructions.

+marie-lise lessi, I'm sorry your comment was accidentally deleted. Were you wanting a translation of this video into French. If so, then I'm sorry but as much as we would love to be able to speak French, neither of us can. :)

I am having a hard time getting the acetate or the backing to adhesive stencil material to stick on my mat. It is a fairly new mat. Any suggestions? I turned my pressure down to 0 after watching your tutorial and that helped a bit.
@alandacraft9 жыл бұрын
+Debbie Barba One thing you could try Debbie is to use the fabric support sheet if you have one. We haven't tested it so we can't guarantee that it will work. Or you may need to really smooth the stencil material down really firmly using the flat spatula. You could secure the corners using masking tape. But you need to be careful with placement so the tape doesn't get caught in the cutting area. Sorry, we couldn't be more helpful but haven't encountered this problem ourselves.

Thank you for the tip.....will try it as I really want to make stecils. I might also try a lighter stencil material.

Thank you for a great teaching video. Can this machine also cut the thicker stencil plastic for making your own stencils? I am an artist who wants to create my own plastic, reusable and washable stencils from my own original artwork. I am looking for a machine with that versatility. Thank you so much:)
@alandacraft10 жыл бұрын
Rhue Chantal Yes you can use stencil plastic. Take a look at our video here on how we do that: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rmHJm6ucrqitars

Thank you so much for sharing this with me. I subscribed today to your channel. Love the videos and reviews. I have so many stencil designs in mind, and no one makes anything like them. You are right, it is also a great way to save money. And time! Where do you find the large acetate sheets shown in this video? Those look great because they are transparent, allowing for precise placement. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise.

Rhue Chantal I'm not sure where you are but we purchased the acetate sheets from a craft shop here in Australia - riotstores.com.au/ I would think that most craft or art stores would have this sort of thing.

this is a great video thank you. I would like to use that butterfly stencil as a scrapbook page and back those cut out butterflies with different patterns of scrapbook paper. So instead of tracing the cut out butterflies onto patterned paper and fussy cutting a little larger, I would like to know if there is a way to cut them out a smidge larger on the scan n cut. Do you know how I can do this?
@alandacraft5 жыл бұрын
Once you scan and save the file as an FCM to your machine, you can then resize them to whatever size you like.

Alanda Craft thank you for your reply and recommendation. I’ve never saved a file to my scan n cut. What is an FCM file? Thank you kindly.

can we upload our own shapes,say i drew something and want to cut it out and make several,can i do that?
@alandacraft7 жыл бұрын
Yes you can definitely do that Angela. Just be aware that it has to be a closed shape, like a silhouette for instance. They work well for this because they are closed shapes.

oh,ok i have a picture of my school mascot it is blue and white and i just want the blue part cut out so i can use it as a stencil to use with fabric paint,can i do that?

@shekharchanda71487 жыл бұрын
what is the maximum size of the paper that can be cut?
@alandacraft7 жыл бұрын
The cutting area of the mat measures 12" x 12" so that is the maximum size of paper/plastic that you can put on the mat. However I wouldn't recommend cutting right out to the edge.

Hi, all I want to do is make a whole bunch of diamonds from the built in designs, I have done it before but cannot seem for the like of me to do it now. I want to make a page full of diamonds all the same.
@alandacraft7 жыл бұрын
It's a bit difficult to answer in a comment Kristine as it takes a lot of steps to get to what you are wanting. Basically, you choose a diamond shape and get that on the screen and then go to the screen that allows you to change the size of the shape. On that screen you can select the number of shapes you want. Then you need to arrange them on the screen and use the align buttons to ensure that they are lined up correctly.

I did what you did, but only half my image came out.

That will happen. When it comes to scanning the ScanNCut is not perfect. Sometimes scanning it through a second time can work. Also using color recognition instead of grey-scale and adjusting the different settings when scanning can work.

l am starting to use mine since November, but have never been had it turned on to use it on my WiFi . . . just called them today so l could and got my numbers and now they want me to pay 200.00 a year just so l can get a free item each month . and get the free projects l was supposed to get when l bought the machine . . l know l had 10 brain surgeries and a stroke, and don't no much anymore, but is this right ? ? ? ? ?😯😎😎😎

Doesn't sound right to me. I would suggest ringing them back and speaking to someone else. I don't know of any plan from Brother that requires you to pay $200 for monthly items.
