It is 2 :33 am and here I am trying to fix my brother SE-400 that I haven’t used in about 5 years 😢, the good news is that I was able to raise the feeding dogs. I’m so glad that I didn’t have to take it anywhere to get it fixed. Thank you so much for up loading this video, I’m a so happy that I can start sewing again. 🙂

Thank you for uploading this. I just got my machine last week, did something wrong and my feed dogs got stuck down. Doing that "manual reset" was a lot cheaper than going to a Brother Authorized Repair Center.

Thank you so much for this video! I was going crazy trying to figure out why my feed dog wasn't moving my fabric for me. This simple trick fixed it for me! I didn't have to take my machine apart, I just had to move the back knob over and pull the feed dog up for it to work properly.

Are you still around. This was great help for getting my machine cleaned and oiled and it sounds fantastic now. However, the feed dogs won’t raise and lower and I found a black rubber wheel- about 3/8” in diameter and 1/4” thick that looks like a spacer or something.

The thread arm.....don't know what it's called......the arm that goes up and down. Anyway was cleaning with brush and came across what appeared to be a knotted mess . I worked and got it out and discovered it must be a brush of some sort not meant to be removed. What do I do?
@christineparr60864 жыл бұрын
How did you assemble the threading area. My skinny piece ( step 4 and 5 ) was taken out. How do I put it back in?

Oh that skinny plastic panel? It snaps into the metal skinny panel on the machine, you'll see that it lines up

This is exactly what I'm trying to fix on my Brother CS7000X, but can't get the middle apart and don't want to break the plastic 😭 I have taken every screw out that I can see and loosened all of the clips. It comes apart everywhere except under the arm (to the right of the needle plate). No one has videos on the model that I have! Please, someone do a video for the CS7000X or link one showing the disassembly! I'm desperate!

@waynekaa75654 жыл бұрын
You are looking from the back side of the machine through right?
@valsedonia4 жыл бұрын
Wayne Kaa Yes, after finally getting it apart. I live in a town where the only sewing machine repair place apparently was forced to close because they’re no longer there. Now I’ve put the dang thing all back together again and won’t be taking it apart. I hardly ever sew on it and this SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED IN THE FIRST PLACE! Let this be a warning to anyone thinking of buying this machine.
@waynekaa75654 жыл бұрын
@@valsedonia Did you see the white lever with the "cup" that's below the feed dogs? Also from the back view. I wish I could just tweak it for you but alas gotta try explaining it.
@valsedonia4 жыл бұрын
Wayne Kaa No, sorry. I appreciate your responding to me this way..I really do. Maybe in a few days I’ll try again and hopefully I’ll have better luck. I barely got it back together the other day, drove it to the sew and vac only to find it deserted! So, I’ll try again in a few days when I’m prepared for another challenge and hopefully I’ll be able to message you again. Thank you.

Do you know how to fix the feed dogs on this machine when they’re stuck in reverse? Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated!
@waynekaa75653 жыл бұрын

@@waynekaa oh my - sorry I meant to get back to you- but my MS brain got forgetful - thread was getting wound to bobbin - it slipped and wound down in to machine around spool/ I used a thread cutter and pliers and got the thread out/I’m not sure how to attach photo- the location is on top of Brother SE-400 far right- where you load empty bobbin with thread- I do not know how to stop this from happening again other than go real slow and keep my eyes on the bobbin. hi, I have a Brother SE-400 emroidery machine. The machine is giving me a error code "F05 speed sensor". Do you happen to know how to fix that? Thank you
@waynekaa75654 жыл бұрын
Have you cleaned and re-oiled the machine? Usually you get that error if the machine is too dirty and it's messing up the sensor.

I’m having the same issue & all I find on the internet is take to get service🙄ya right. I think if you take it apart like he did & clean/oil it properly it should work. I have a question for the community, I took my brother se 400 in for repair and was told that it had a broken take up lever shaft and that it couldn't be fixed. The repair person was not very forth coming with information. Does anyone know why this would be unrepairable?
@waynekaa4 жыл бұрын
That sounds like an unusual reason to have a broken machine, the machine would have needed to take a significant hit to break that. It's probably repairable, the repair person either didn't want to do it, or he would charge more than the cost of a new machine to repair it
