Hey mate, if you slide the bobbin winder right, that disengages the main mechanism, your machine wasn't stuck or broken. When the bobbin is full wound, it pushes itself to the left to re-engage the main mechanism.

Great, I learned how to loosen the motor to get a new lug belt on an 80's Brother VX-940 and many other troubleshooting tips! Hang on to those oldies that were made of all metal, often in Japan. Oh my gosh! My friend gave me her old swing machine. I was having the same problem so I started following this. Then I started reading the comments. It's "fixed"now. We'll, now I know how to open up my sewing machine too, I guess.

Try disengaging the bobbin winder before needlessly dismantling the machine. That machine isn't supposed to work when the bobbin winder is in that position, which you could clearly see turning at the start. Also you are turning the wheel in wrong direction. Always turn ot anticlockwise.

I was laughing my ass off! He had his hand/fingers right on the lever but never pushed it to the right or left. Belt side of machine on top there are three items coming up out of the top of the machine. The tallest (middle) object is a lever (bobbin winder) and the bobbin winder base, you must move it right and left to actuate the so the needle will go up and down. Machine was not broken and did NOT need any lubricant. I pulled one of these out of the garbage pile to make a guitar pickup winder using only the motor and belt. Thanks for the entertainment.

This I'd exactly what I needed to have the confidence to look in my own machine (same model). The belt slipped off the bottom gear put it back on. Oiled well, all os working great, again!

The clutch is not disengaged. In some machines you have to tighten the belt pulley and in others you have to disengage the bobbin winder to engage the shaft rotation

The reason it would spin without moving everything else was because the bobber filler was in the locked mode to fill

I have a vx808 . When I slide the bobbin winder right, it does not disengage the main mechanism. The knob on the right will not rotate to disengage the main mechanism. Can this be fixed

No idea. Look to see where the contact is made & if the mechanism moves, spins, or rotates. It could just be very very stuck and need lubricating. Take is slowly, take pictures, and analyze as you go. You might be able to figure it out. I encourage you! : )

Darle una oportunidad. Toma muchas fotos y videos. Cuando desarmo motores o piezas de automóviles, escribo los pasos en papel a medida que avanzo e incluso pongo cinta adhesiva en el artículo y lo pongo en una bolsa de plástico y cierro la bolsa después de ese artículo y escribo en la bolsa con tinta permanente. . Mira mis videos de motores.

You know what I'd do? Put in in the car and take it over to an old Volkswagen parts supply store and ask a guy over 50 years old. Rationale: Those guys have a LOT of experience taking apart things-they'd probably love to take a look at it and help too! : ).

I have no idea. If it were me I'd try with thin material and thick material-to see if the results are different. I'd even try sewing together two pieces of paper and then two completely transparent pieces of semi-thick plastic-that way you can see thru the plastic to the foot BELOW the fabric/the bottom foot & see if the bottom foot is doing what it is supposed to be doing, right? Let me know! Interesting! : )

It looks like you have no idea about sewing machines. Luckily hou are good with your hands and you did not break a perfectly good sewing machine. Next time start with the users manual. Learn the basics and go to troubleshooting section. All's well that ends well ! I had fun watching !

You are correct, I know little about sewing machines. I did not have the user's manual nor did I have access to the user's manual. I did not have time to learn the basics, I just thought it needed to be oiled. It did and the problem was solved in a round about way. Ha!

At 7min in video I could see that your bobbing winder was engaged, the white spindle is turning. you needed to push it to the left and the needle would then move. At 10min in video when no picture you must off clicked the spindle across because then it moved the needle, rodney you plonker ha ha

I think it'll be fine. It's all plastic. I've put dirty air vents in the dishwasher instead of washing them all by hand and they were all fine.
