I was so sorry to hear that the great Jack Greene passed away a few days ago. I was so glad when I got to see him at the Opry in 2001 during CMA Fest. I loved watching and listening to Jack on the TV and radio growing up. RIP Mr. Greene.

I think Jack should have been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame years ago. When they bring in a newer artist to the Hall they could, at the same time, induct one of the older artists who deserve it, too. Many greats are still around. It's so powerful to see the artists in this video cheering each other's talents because music like they make is pretty foreign in many of today's artists. Roy and Minnie - wish you were still here to run things. - Thank you for posting this - Paula

"Waltz Across Texas" was written by Talmadge Tubb, the nephew of Ernest Tubb. Ernest said the following about this song, "Talmadge didn't have it quite finished, and it laid around my den for about eight or ten years, and I dug it out and started fooling with it and liked it, so I rewrote the chorus and added a verse, and I decided to do it for my own pleasure, because it's about my home state of Texas". Ernest Tubbs first recorded it in 1965

I do so love this song. The first time I heard Ernest sing it I was hooked. Jeanie and Jack do a really great job with it. What a wonderful song to waltz to - just perfect true country gold. Jack and Jeanie have always been such super inspirations to all of us country music lovers. Their voices blend so well and it's so nice to see them here with other wonderful country artists. Who is the fellow with the red shirt and black hat right before they finish? He looks familiar. -Paula
