Remember watching this one Saturday afternoon because the Jam were on it playing Eton Rifles and When You're Young.

My gateway to Joy Division was discovering New Order in the late 80s. I really enjoy what they created and will always wonder what could have been had Ian lived.

Everything was very self conscious, check out how the Gang of Four comported themselves onstage, the dress is quite purposeful. Stripped down to perfection, love the music and created one of the all time great breakup songs, Love Will Tear Us Apart. Nothing like them at the time. If you haven't seen it, I would recommend 24 Hour Party People which is a remembrance of the scene at the time with the great Steve Coogan as Tony Wilson. A lot of other music from Manchester worth checking out from that era with the Buzzcocks being an absolute must.

Great! No creo haber escuchado activamente a esta banda, sí a New Order, de todas formas su sonido resuena en mis recuerdos. Me gustaría que compartieran más de JD y NO, sí es posible. Gracias también por contextualizar y compartir sus recuerdos.

Joy Division were an incredibly important band for me at a time and place in my life I'm reluctant to revisit. Much too dark. It is great to see this though. It's funny with The Cure recently releasing a new album, because it seemed to me all those years ago that Robert Smith was very much influenced by Joy Division and picked up where they left off. I think the appearance of the band in this video might owe something to Kraftwerk, or David Bowie in his Heroes period.
