Hi I just wanted to say please don't give up when loading you mat into the machine. I'm a newbie and I have the DX 1200 and I can understand your frustration when loading the mat. I didn't have that problem yet and I hope I don't too, the only thing I see is that the mat looses its stickiness after a couple of uses. Please don't give up I learn a lot from your videos I watch your video and try to match it as best as I can when your working with the CM50 even thro I know they are different, I only had my machine for a couple of months and this is my first electronic die cutting machine as well. Hope you continue to upload plenty more with the new model. Anyway thanks for your technical help and thanks for sharing your knowledge for us to learn. From Lisa. 💐

Lisa, oh I have not given up. Thanks for your encouragement. It was frustrating at first. My new mat from Brother is loading just fine. Hi Kimberly. I bought a CM700 from a friend and it arrived on Tuesday. I have managed to connect it to the internet but it wont show me anywhere to put in my pin generated number. It comes up with the message Failed to connect to your computer. Activate the dedicated programme and try again, any idea as to what is happening please. Thank you. Hugs and Loves xx

I suggest doing a factory reset when you get a previously owned machine. You can search for that on support.brother.com or just go through your settings.

Thank you Kimberly. I went searching and it was on page 7 it says scanNcut Online and under that it says ScanNCut Canvas ID and there is an option to delete or change so I pressed Change then OK and it was there. I don't usually like pressing things I don't know about but after you said about doing a reset I thought if I go wrong I can always reset it. Then I found it and pressed ok and the screen came to ask for my pin and that is it all done. Thank you so very much. xxx

Wendy Davies-Stead I’m glad it worked. A reset just erases all of the setting d and goes back to the defaults. I’ve done it several times and nothing went wrong. It is good to start with fresh settings if you get the machine second hand. Hey, now that it’s working, leave it alone.

Do you have to have the card to use wireless with the cm350? I have heard that you don't but never works for me.

Do I have to register if I want to use Inkscape as my software and upload my files via USB only ? Is registering your machine necessary if your machine doesn’t have warranty? Or you have to register the machine for firmware updates for the machine itself ? Sorry for asking so many questions, as I am thinking whether brother snc is suitable for me or not.

Deep Diver (Love your name), you are just registering it wirelessly so that it connects. I have videos here on my channel on how to do that. I ask because I may want to use this in a place with limited to non existent internet/WiFi access and may ask a family member to download the update on a usb for me once a while and hand it over to me. Also do I still have to convert my svg file to fmc file for the machine to read ? Or it reads your own designed svg files too? Last question, could you advice me on questions regarding the machine as I may want to purchase a refurbished one. Like problems scanning the mat, screen problems, or any other issue I should be aware of prior to purchasing the item ? Subscribed for your great attitude!

Thanks for your comment. On your machine itself, you can use the wireless connection wizard (WLAN) to connect to the router in your home. If you are using a CM350, you need to purchase a Wireless Activation Card which I’ll link to below. If you have the CM650 or SDX models, they come wirelessly enabled and no card is needled.

There could be any number of reasons. Try your password on another device to see if you are using the correct WiFi password. Be sure to contact Brother directly if you have trouble. The possibilities are endless as to what is going on. support.brother.com

Is your wireless connected on your machine? Has the code been used before? Has the machine been registered before. It could be any number of things.

Click on the little wrench 🔧 (Settings) and then scroll down to the last screen where it says No. and Ver. That is your machine information.

Robert, You only need it if you have a ScanNCut 2. The SDX doesn't need a code. I don't know your code. It is a scratch off code on a plastic card.

When you are moving cuts to save and you download to save. I wonder if it’s possible to delete and try to load again?

Oh yes, if you are referring to the files you save on your machine, you just use the little trash can to delete them as you are opening them (retrieving them). If you are referring to the online files, after you download them from Canvas Workspace, you can retrieve the files on your machine. You just retrieve the last one you downloaded. They are not stored on your machine unless you save them.

Turn off your router and back on. Try your password again. It is case sensitive. Call Brother Support if you still have trouble. They can help you reset your machine.
