The one they heard before his arrival is WotW, yes. But the one that controlled Rimuru is Raphael, because Words of the World rarely ever doees anything for people and only after great efforts/a very special occasion does WotW grant skills. Meanwhile, Raphael/Great Sage is Rimuru's very own pocket version of it and she loves spamming new skills for him. Which is why she's pretty much one of, if not the most broken skill in the show.

@@marioritter7014 Great Sage is basically a client accessing the server node that is the Words of the World, in a sense. While theoretically it would be able to access all the data stored on the server, it actually can't to the extent that the Words of the World itself actually collects data from lifeforms (it's basically literally Big Government surveillance shit, it literally sees all shit like your thoughts, what you are doing 24/7 in real time, among much more), but it does have access to encyclopedia shit like skill lists or theoretical data on various lifeforms & matter in the world (which is what Appraisal pulls from when GS pulls the data up whenever Rimuru asks X, in addition to GS itself working as a type of general purpose Simulation program from all the pulled data from the server as well), as well as a bunch of analysis-type functions in itself.

6:26 I don't think it's the part of the ritual or mandatory. It could be as simply as that, since Razen still survived, and he was really sleepy, he just needed someone to capture the survivor quickly, summoning a demon is the most efficient way, because his subordinates are not there, and the survivor might escaped by the time they come. Also, there's a difference between (True) Demon Lord and Demon, the latter (in this series) refers to beings living specifically in Hell.

Addendum: There was also a surplus of freshly slain souls available for a sacrifice, so it was convenient to specifically summon a Demon at that point. Although such a bigshot popping out would've been beyond expectations.

if the image shows a rectangle it's (the voice of the world) if it's a diamond (Great sage) you could see them communicating with each other. Another example: you can see that when merciless was announced the screen was rectangular(Hence VoTW). And when Great Sage finished analyzing merciless it became a diamond. the same voice is because Great Sage copied the VoTW's ability to speak(announce skills) to communicate with Rimuru. Since one of Rimuru's wishes back in the cave is "To have someone to talk to," because he was lonely. also fun fact Raphael (Former great sage) lied/orchestrated about the lack of magicules. The souls needed 'desires' to return which some of them lack or didn't have enough of. What has a lot of ego/desires? Demons! So yeah, Diablo might think he suggested it, but Raphael had it all planned out. That's why Spoiler Shion's race is a bit different from the others. A wicked oni.

The demon summoning is not part of the ritual and is actually the second time Rimuru has summoned a demon. The first time was in Ramaris' Labyrinth, where he summoned a demon and named it Barretta to replace the golem he destroyed (that event was kind of glossed over in last season even though Barretta is an awesome weirdo).

And the reason he summoned them this time was because he knew he was going to be in a weakened state, basically KO'd, so he wanted someone to take care of what he started. Giving all those 20k bodies up gives someone like Diablo immense power from the get go. Capturing Razen was an easy task.

If you pay close attention to the dialogue during evolution, great sage and "the voice of the world" were communicating with one another. Great sage requesting skill upgrade and acquisition of new skills from "The voice of the world"

7 Primordial demons are the first few demons to ever exist (they are born after the god created the first 7 angels to have the world its balance. They're like the Head of the family tree so yes, they're basically the strongest. And yes, the Demon Shizu met/ Rimuru summoned is literally one of the strongest Demons in this series. Edit: You might be mistaken about Kuroo (let's call him that for now even if his name is already stated before) having red in his eyes. It's not like he's being controlled by something like Great Sage like Rimuru was. It's his natural eye color. Black+Gold+Red.

Ah yes, the Seven Primordials. Each identify themselves with a color. They are not named, per se. They are Rouge, Noir (whom we have met this episode), Bleu, Vert, Blanc, Violet and Jaune. Respectfully Red, Black, Blue, Green, White, Purple and Yellow for their colors. Other demons who share colors are of their households. Beretta is a member of Noir's household, as an example.

Even then, it's kind of hard to figure out just from watching the anime that Great Sage/Raphael and Words of the World are actually two separate entities. It's especially confusing during this episode's evolution scene because they're talking to each other.

Good reaction guys! Notes on this episode. 1st: the voice is not the Great sage but rather the voice of the world or in other novel "Will of the world". It was just confused to be the same cause it has the same sound. 2nd: Rimuru will never be go insane unlike Millim because they have different situation. Millim evolved that time during her rampage due to death of her only friend dragon. 3rd: The demon summoned is Black one of the 7 Primordial Demons and the 2 sacrifice he offered were his subordinate in Black army in Demon World. Demons will be resurrected in the future, iirc, its 10000 years.

Super glad the sub you got said that Black was the primordial because others I've seen have been confusing. One of my fav scenes when he's so respectful of our boy Rimuru for giving him power. Words of the world speaking to everyone gets a lot of people confused so don't worry. Such a great episode. Glad you watched.

It's basically the System running all the skills & literally all that shit, as designated by Literally God when he created the multiverse back whenever (well technically it existed before that, but it was empty excluding him, so he decided to big bang the shit out of boredom, just to have literally anything to do except just chill 24/7 in empty void). Although anime is shit-tier at internal monologue adaptations so it didn't rly adapt the bit about how it took 2 months at the start for Great Sage to interact with Rimuru, because it took it 2 months to rip off the sound files from the Words of the World "server" so to speak (by default Great Sage would just beam raw data directly into the mind, but it estimated that MC would never trust such an approach, so it had to rip sound files to splice together a voice to interact more "naturally"). You can also hear how Raphael is distinct from the Words of the World, as it has less filters applied to the VA's voice vs GS/Words of the World

Late to this one, but a one thing from the Razen vs Kurō fight I don't think I saw anyone point out: - In the Manga, Kurō blowing away Razen's magic actually took out Pinky Finger Pirone, one of Claymans top subordinates who was spying on the battle. Kurō noticed her during the fight and took her out. The animators chose not only to not show that, but to just forget about Pirone entirely. Seriously... after Myuran explains who the Five Fingers are, Pirone is never mentioned again 🤣

So the summoning of the demons was nothing to do with the evolution and just abou making sure the survivor was captured because anyone who could survive must be dangerous. The demons red pupils are his. He isn't controlled by sage. Also, in the LN eyes don't turn red when great sage is in control. It's a stylistic choice made by the animators to convey this to the audience. Oh and great sage tried to evolution something ridiculous like 100 million plus times haha. It was incomprehensible because the skill did it by its own will. Which is something so impossible even great sage was confused by it😂

9:55 just a little added info about the names of the Ultimate skills "Raphael" and "Beelzebub"; they are part of the Virtue (i think they are also referred as the Angel series not 100% sure though) series and Sin series respectively. So they basically its the 7 angels of god and the 7 demon princes of hell; Each Ultimate has ties to their real world. Raphael main skill is Wisdom and Beelzebub is consumption (basically Gluttony).

especially liked the Great Sage Evolution attempt. Like 2 AIs battling each other. No mercy, recalculating probably thousands of times in a mere instant to receive the selfish Upgrade, analyzing and changing the attempt in every possible way to ge the OK, sacrificing strong Skills to "bribe" the Voice of the World (Skill-System). All for one single Goal .... being more helpful to her Master. Sage was really pissed at herself, that she couldnt calculate or prevent the Terror-attack on the City.

One of the things you have to bear in mind is translation wonkiness. "Maou" is most directly translated as Demon Lord but is, particuarly in anime, rarely litterally a demon but is just some dark and powerful individual. In Slime, the Demon Lord are exceptionally powerful 'monsters' who have completed a Harvest Festival. Some use their power to rule a kingdom as an actual lord, others don't. That is all. Demon/Daemon are an actual monster race and must undergoe the Harvest Festival, same as any other monster race, to become a Maou.

To clarify: Rimiru wass told that someone is hiding and pretending to be dead. As he is falling asleep he cannot search for them himself and Ranga has to take him back to his home. He summoned the demons to find that person then go back to hell after they where delivered. they are not part of becoming a demon lord

Demons and Demon Lords aren't the same thing, Demons are a race and Demon Lord is a status/title. Also the "red pupils means great sage is in control" is only about rimuru, and its not about the red glint or something like that, like in Season 1 when Rimuru fought the Orc Lord. The red glint is more like blood lust/killing intent. Also with Rimuru the pupil doesn't become red its the Iris that does, and the Demon's iris is still gold..

How many attempts will it take? Hundreds of millions. Great Sage knew the possibility of it evolving were pretty much zero but it still wanted to be of mire use to it's master so it, a skill wanted to evolve. Great Sage skill normally doesn't talk but it spent 90,days after Rimuru first git reincarnated to find a way to mimic speech and ended up using the same voice as Words of the World so it can talk to its master. Eventually it started to develop a sense of self and having a will of its own which should never happen for a skill. All that to serve its beloved master and be more useful to him.

The show kinda toned down some side details of the resurrection. When Raphael descended she talked to the others stating it will take care of things. mujjuran(sp?) Instantly recognized it wasnt Rimuru but that it was one his skills talking. She was shocked and stunned at how a skill became autonomous for the sake of their master. Also a little side chapter in the manga (65.5) shows a quick snippet from a soldiers perspective on the Meggido attack. It essentially shows how frighteningly serene one of the soldier sees Rimuru after he had a short 1on1 conversation. IMO worth reading it.

It's a bit confusing, but there is the Words of the World, and great sage. What everyone heard was the Words of the World. During Rimuru's Evolution, Great Sage and the Words of the World talked to each other - you can tell which is which by the background as they talk. Also, Demon Lords and Demons are something completely different. Demons are a Race? while Demon Lord is more of a Jon/Class thing? Bit hard to explain. He summoned Demons to deal with the survivor while he was passed out, it wasn't part of the ritual.

Pls just don't think. Every time you try to come up with a theory it fails so fucking bad it's not even remotely close to what's actually happening. The 3 demons he summoned aren't at all related to the ritual. Once the ritual got going, he was weakened and just needed a summon to do his bidding as his subordinates all had duties he had assigned them to and he needed someone right then there for him. Noir, the black primordial has been keeping watch of Shizu ever since he came into contact with it as he sensed the infinite time compression within it and realized it was involved in some time - travelling related events. But then Rimuru managed to get it and the mask def showed a connection to Rimuru so Noir felt like he could discover the truth behind this world by following Rimuru. Btw Noir has been alive almost as long as this world has been, way older than even Milim and Veldora. The last time Rimuru summoned a demon, another lower ranked demon (Beretta) of his own lineage (he is the progenitor/primordial for the black demon lineage) answered the call for the summon before Noir, becoming Ramiris' servant in the process. Even as he is rn, he would wipe the floor with Hinata with his unparalleled knowledge of magic, experience and god tier skill and efficiency. Demons are naturally better with magic in this verse but Noir has tricks no one else has as you'll see.
