It's implied that when a monster evolves, their evolution is based on their idea of strength, the ogres became more humanoid after they got completely outmatched by Rimuru in humanoid form, the human-looking lizardmen are assassins working under Souei, so they look more like him, Gabiru's troop looks up to Gabiru, who evolved with only the traditional idea of a dragonewt in mind, so all of them are traditional dragonewts as well

I think it might also be implied in the ln that Rimurus wish/idea of evolution plays a paet as well. But I'm not sure if that was just an idea he had or concrete how it works. It would make some sense because he named them and is connected to them because of this so the evolution being influenced makes sense. They also got some of his skills while evolving. Hakuro thought acceleration, benimaru the black flame, souei the strings etc. They are also better at using them than he is because they specialize where as he is a generalist.

The naming created a connection between them that led to them gaining some of his strength upon evolving. After devouring the orc lord (or after demon lord evo) he even has food chain skill integrated in one of his other skills which gives him access to the skills of his subordinates.

I'm pretty sure that with Dragonewts, when they evolve their desires are taken into account with their evolution's form. Gabiru, who is very proud of his Lizardman heritage, simply grew wings as well as horns similar to dragon horns. His sister, on the other hand admired Souei, so she took on a more humanoid form.

A few details for this episode: -Hakurou was intentionally taunting Kyoya, so he'd overclock his All Seeing Eye, and so Hakurou could maximize how long Kyoya was alive to experience his death. -Geld was personally pissed off at Shougo for killing his comrade. Think about the orc's story: Geld and the orcs had to eat each other and others _just to survive._ Shougo did it, _just for power._ -Rimuru's Meggido was basically like turning a spyglass on ants. In the novel and manga, he actually employs it more ruthlessly, targeting organs and maximizing suffering to the soldiers. -Gobta's sheath cannon is the weapon that was made for him for defeating Gabiru in season 1.

Desire has a part of the transformation of the person when they evolve. The nuclear magic is a great type of magic above normal types, its part of but at the bottom of the top tier of magic in the world The multi-kill spell at end can't be blocked by anti-spell barriers (like the anti-magic field) because the attack itself is just concentrated sunlight/heat, the only magic involved is the summoning of the water spirits to control the globs of water (this is all light novel stuff that isnt brought up in the anime so no risk of spoilers) Edit: Also the attack Gobta did from his scabard was a one use attack (needs to be reloaded) built into it and it is the special weapon that Rimuru promised him for defeating GABIRU! GABIRU!

Also it's not that weird to have concepts like nuclear magic. Nuclear is 100% natural, see literally any sun in the universe. Also since the multiverse was created by god, it makes sense the World System (Words of the World, as they mentioned this episode) responsible for shit like skills & magic etc, has concepts like that, since I'm quite sure someone who is night omnipotent/omniscient (in theory, at least) has no difficulties knowing such basicbitch concepts like nuclear energy etc

Anti-Magic Area only blocks Aspectual Magic not Spirit Magic so Spirit Summoning is still possible but yes, you are correct why the heat rays weren't dissipated by the barrier.

It might look like painless but Rimuru's goal is far from just killing them. It's to sow confusion so that the army couldn't function properly and he can do the job much easier. Also, in the novel, he was sowing fear because he was not just killing them but also targeting their limbs so that the army will feel despair. It was toned down here but in the novel it was very chaotic.

No spoilers. Rimuru uses those water lenses to gather and control sun light. It's basically physics magic. He has an attack that can penetrate the anti magic barrier and travels at the speed of light meaning it's unavoidable. Oh, and in the LN rimuru deliberatly didn't one shot people to sow panic in order to prevent the enemy from organising... he would chop of limbs to do this... So yes, hidoi.

IIRC the manga mentioned that most of the people that turned human were ones that were interested in working under Soei and looking human would be more useful for the covert type of missions that Soei would undertake so the transformation reflected that desire.

12:40 there are a few ways Razen and Hakuro could know about nuclear strike magic: 1: nuclear strike magic is an accepted term for high-level magic that causes atomic annihilation. 2: Razen has been involved in kidnapping humans from Earth for decades. The term could easily originate from an otherworlder seeing the spell in action and naming it. 3: Hakuro has been spending a lot of time training Rimuru offscreen-he might have asked about weapons/abilities otherworldly threats might have. 4: the setting is actually post-apocalyptic. There was previously a highly advanced (but magic-based) civilization present that experimented with nuclear weapon class spells. One of the demon lords ended that civilization when they summoned him as a living weapon, but documents about some of the most powerful attack spells may have survived for Rozen to study.

Holes all over. *Not spoilers, but indepth info on powers that the anime never provides* That shield of Geld's is made of Charybdis's scales, and when it gets destroyed, Geld pulls another one out of his "Stomach." Geld's "Stomach" is not only vastly similar to Rimiru's, just astronomically smaller, but it is directly connected to Rimiru's(all of Rimiru's direct subordinates' powers are Rimiru's, as soon as they plead themselve to him and evolve through his will, and Rimiru enhances their strengths with his). They can imbibe things to transfer them between each other. That would be explained around this point, but the anime never does. This ability matters in a vital moment during the next arc, but it gets mired over, so no one thinks to wonder "Huh? How did that happen?" 8:25 Reminds me of another isekai I am quietly begging ya'll to one day react to. "Rot" magic and abilities make for hella unique fighting ability, on anime. In a LN series I'm catching up on, the MC ends up with Rot magic, but can only use it theough his mouth, tasting every drop of death, bile, and decay as it passes through! The audience hears the speech of all the characters as if through Rimuru, to whom the great sage translates all meaningful speech into a language understandable to modern man. And no, not all the soldiers shared the mood of those two at the beginning of the episode, in the manga they were interrupted not by the commander, but by another soldier who felt that this was too much. In the manga, he did not die from the first hit and managed to talk a little with Rimuru, who personally flew around the field and finished off those on whom the rays did not hit accurately enough

Rimuru's Megiddo is probably his most efficient attack. Just about all he does is set up water elementals to make a series of water droplets and have them work like a chain of lenses. Focusing sunlight into the lasers that you see. Hell, the attack itself uses no magicules, is literally the speed of light, passes through magic barriers, and can't be detected by anti-magic. Because it's more science than magic.

I think the change in appearance after evolution has something to do with the person's inner desires. The male Dragonewts loved Gabil, who love himself, so they turned into that. The females loved Souei after what he did in saving their chief, so they became more like him (AKA humanized). That's my understanding at least.

I don't have to correct answer but i will say that if you rewatch the episode when they evolve, there is at least 1 guy maybe 2 that evolve into more humanoid. It is my theory that the lizard men actually have more than 1 evolutionary path and that the humanoid one is actually a more rare path, closer related to the dragonkin.

Rimuru's attack are actually in waves and not continuous. The attack needs a lot of calculation and changing of trajectory after all. They come in the 500 to 1000 kills per wave. So technically the lucky ones are the first wave death. Because they did try to resist the attack but all fail. Some tried using their shields, still died. Some tried to use magic barriers, the anti magic area barrier stopped it. Some tried holy magic, it passes right through it. They're basically sitting ducks waiting for their turn. Considering Rimuru occasionally hit non vital to instill more chaos. Running and screaming can be seen in that area.

And I was so happy, that they brought Hakurou's lines...Of angering the one, whose rage they should fear most...And pitying them, after he purposefully made Kyoya use his mind acceleration to the limit, so he would experience the few seconds his head still lives, for hours, meaning, he made him experience being beheaded for hours deliberately, but pities those facing Rimuru...

In the LN Rimuru didn’t go for the painless deaths, it was changed for the anime because of how brutal he was. He intentionally missed all their vital spots to make them all suffer unimaginable pain and cause a mass panic before finishing them all off.

Nuclear strike magic isn’t actually a nuke. It’s the strongest form of elemental magic that humans can cast. The area of effect for most of them are pretty small, same as regular magic. That “nuclear” part likely originated from an other worlder who described nukes as the strongest form of attack.

Since I didn't see it in the comments already: the name of the attack Rimuru uses is biblical in nature (like many other things in Slime). Its a place is Isreal known as Tel Megiddo. According to revelations, a massive apocalyptic battle at Armageddon will take place at "Har Megiddo" (Mount Megiddo). Armageddon comes from the Greek translation of "Har Megiddo," so Rimuru is basically unleashing Armageddon on the soldiers.

in episode 2 or so, RImuru realizes that he can understand people. other otherwolrders pretty much have to learn the local languages, but Rimuru has a skill that translates soundwaves with intention for him. so i think when they say nuclear strike magic, they have a different word for it in the local language, but its translated for our world understanding.

A person's head can remain conscious for anywhere from 10-30 seconds after decapitation. Total brain death occurs in 4-5 minutes. But in a perception-accelerated state of ×300, 30s would be perceived as if it were 2.5 _hours._ And that's not even accounting for potentially prolonging the length of consciousness past 30s due to enhanced constitution from being an other-worlder and adrenaline, as well as just the enhanced perception of time from being "in the zone", also from adrenaline, during a fight. Megiddo was not painless at all in this. Rimuru chooses to mae the suffer so some hits are just to cause pain and fear among the masses as the soldiers hear their comrades scream in pain around them. Rimuru went dark for this.

The light novel and anime versions of this are tame compared with the web novel version. They completely cut out how he handled the assassins from the church.

The title GENOCIDE is misleading, when the humans started the ambush/massacre in his city. They even have a war party on standby if any tried to escape. Also, rimuru killed were armed men, ready to kill or defend. Not women, children or frail old adults.
