1:09- the second season was originally shown in black and white (even though it was filmed in color from that point on) because CBS wasn't telecasting ANY weekly or daily color programming until the fall of 1965.

0:30 - Lucy hated this Season 5 opening with the bouncing balls so much that she had it replaced after a few weeks by the Season 4 kaleidoscope opening, which was kept for Season 6 also. Seeing her head pop up as a jack-in-the-box is a bit creepy. 1:55 - This closing is from Season 2 episode "Lucy and the Bank Scandal", OAD 11/11/1963. 5:08 - TWELVE O'CLOCK HIGH only had 17 episodes in color. ABC cancelled the series midway through Season 3 after Seasons 1 & 2 were in B&W. 11:20 - BACHELOR FATHER was one of the few, if not only, shows to be aired on all 3 networks. It started as a part-time series for 2 seasons on CBS, sharing its Sunday night time slot with Jack Benny's show. After that it moved summer 1959 to NBC (showing CBS reruns until the fall) for 2 seasons, then finally it spent its last season on ABC. 12:32 - Both HAWK and Burt Reynolds' 2nd series, DAN AUGUST, were rerun in the 1970s after Reynolds' movie career took off. 13:13 - The episode here was "The Washington Spotlight", OAD 10/25/1963.

Swan & Lux were products of Lucy's major sponsor, Lever Bros., which also sponsored HERE'S LUCY in the 1970s. 10:12 That's a great commercial for Kellogg's Rice Krispies w/ apparently the entire Season 4 cast of DENNIS THE MENACE.

An obscure little piece of trivia, but before he became a major name in TV shows, one of Glen A Larson's little footsteps in the business was as a writer. he wrote the "To Seek and Destroy" episode of "TWELVE 'O CLOCK HIGH" for Quinn Martin, and also wrote for an episode of "THE FUGITIVE" called "In a Plain,Brown Wrapper" about the danger of Firearms in the hands of children. pretty interesting history with Larson writing for QM,when Larson himself became a household name in the late 70s and 80s while QM was sold to Taft Broadcasting in 1979 and fading into obscurity by the early-mid 80s before his death in 1987.Aaron Spelling eventually succeeded these names in the business before being brought out by CBS Studios before his death a few years ago.

6:30 Chrissy didn't win anything knocking the cans over. There's a sign under the tables stating that "Cans Must Be Knocked OFF Table", and she just knocked them all over but left them on the table. I once ran a similar game at an amusement park w/ the same rule a few years after this THREE'S COMPANY opening, and I'd never noticed that she didn't win before I worked there.

FredFlix The "camera's eye" I.D. was primarily used at the end of their filmed and "kinescoped" episodes through 1966, on 16mm "bicycle" prints sent to those stations who presented several of their programs on a delayed basis [for various reasons]. "Live" I.D.s were generally seen on the network like this: www.tvworthwatching.com/img/pages/T8BEJHCUZP8122H.jpg

Yes. Dr. Charles H. Keith- "Supervisor of Physical Chemistry" for Liggett & Myers- developed it for them....and the filter was named for him when the brand was introduced in 1963. However, he left the company in 1965- and all references to the "3-Piece Keith Filter" were eliminated from the packs and their advertising. The filter was then identified in ads as "two outer sections, plus an inner chamber of charcoal granules". By 1970, it was billed as the "Gas-Trap Filter".

Another interesting bit of trivia involves the history of Columbia Pictures' most well-established TV subsidiary-division Screen Gems, who back in the great days of Primetime TV of the 50s and mid 70s cranked-out great TV series before being renamed as Columbia Pictures TV and eventually becoming SONY. SONY reinstated Screen Gems as a motion picture subsidiary in 1999 where they do various movies today, which are millions of light years away from the days when they cranked out good TV shows for the TV networks-something that SONY should've stayed with, given the horrible types of movies that their Screen Gems division have been releasing these days!

Camel unfiltered cigarettes was what my late father smoked when I was little, he started every day by lighting up the second his eyes opened then coughing, gagging and hawking phlegm. That's what helped put him in his grave. He then switched to Kent with the micronite filter, than Marlboro. My mother done the same thing, she's got C.O.P.D. from all of those cigarettes she inhaled through the years and our cat died from cancer from her cigarettes.
