Sid Jones The people citing "it's nothing new" do not follow the league or do their homework. There has never been a team with this much talent, in their prime, in its starting lineup that has made competition almost non-existent. All anyone remembers are the winners: Boston and LA dominating in the 80's, Chicago in the 90's, LA in the early 2000's and Lebron James led teams in the 2010's. They do not appreciate the fact that teams DID have legitimate shots of dethrowning them during these eras. No one remembers the 80's Philadelphia, Chicago or Dallas teams - heck, people even forget DETROIT - or the several contenders that battled Jordan and his Bulls in the 90's including Portland, Phoenix, Seattle, Utah, New York, Orlando, and Indiana. LA had San Antonio and Sacramento as legitimate threats. No one cares how the Heat had to get through San Antonio, Dallas, OKC, Chicago, Boston, and Indiana. GSW has MAYBE Houston as a potential threat, that's it. But even Houston pales in comparison talent-wise. They'd have to give it 100% and GSW only gives 80% just to win 4 of 7. They got close, but were not at full strength. The bias and sheer ignorance is astounding.

Yea but when they "one guy" you add is the 2nd best player in the world, it's cowardly on his part. Can't hate on the team for signing him but the NBA should have stepped in and not let it happen. It really does ruin the product and at the end of the day when you losing more fans than you are creating, it makes a serious problem.

There is a lot of player mobility in professional soccer, and it is not a problem. Arsenal fans are first loyal to Arsenal, and then the players. The American fans don't have the same attitude. American fans just want to associate themselves with whoever is the most successful at the moment, so they can feel "successful."

People keep saying the Warriors are hurting the league, but the ratings say otherwise. Ratings have never been higher than they are today. The NBA has been growing fast, increasing in popularity, and they just got a new T.V deal that is worth BILLIONS in annual revenue. The NBA is a business and so far, they've been making tons of money. The Warriors are an international sensation because they are a "superteam." Superteams generate interest in the NBA and that's been proven by how many fans the Warriors have in different countries around the world.

EyeLoveTheStars Money and Ratings are fine. But it’s still bad for the league that the best scorer in the league joined a 73-9 team. Sure it’s exciting to watch a super team play but at the end of the year it’s the Warriors winning every single time. That’s bad. Plus for KD it reveals he’s weak. David West Pau Gasol they need to ring chase. KD? Best scorer in the league? No he didn’t need to chase rings like that.

The problem isn't the players and mobility, the problem is there are far too many teams that have no business being in existence. Some cities can't maintain or have any business hosting a team, but because of the extra franchise fees (expansion fee) the owners get every time a team is created, the league gives its blessing for small cities to get a team.Players not wanting to be in a small market that doesn't get them the most exposure and therefore the most money opt for larger cities as fast as they can. Can anyone really blame them ?

Player mobility is good. Certain players though shouldn’t be on certain teams. I don’t mind KD moving from OKC. Great! The problem is he Moved to a 73-9 already stacked Golden State team. If Kawhi wants to Move from the Spurs... cool. But Kawhi shouldn’t go to the Warriors. All mobility is not created equal.

Johnnie Mack lol, yeah it is okay to have Kawhi, pg and leHelp or leQuit... Before all these championships, you do know gsw was no one and they drafted their players. Even with kd, they needed to get rid of two starters, rim protector and depth of the bench for one player kd himself.... You also do know that lebron is the one to be blamed as he is the one who starts this trend of quitting and joining forces with other superstars in their prime. So stop crying just because lebron is being underachieved after all these quitting and joining forces with other superstars in their prime, but still ends up with 3-6 or 1-8 without the bail out by Allen in 2013 and by Adam silver in 2016.

If sports talk shows didn't put so much emphasis on a championship validating a players career, then maybe players wouldn't feel like their legacy depends almost solely on getting one. The players aren't exclusively to blame for 'superteams,' and talk show hosts should consider the narrative they've created as being part of the problem. That's my two cents.

Mobility isn't the problem. Having one team signing 4 prime all stars and destroying the competitive balance is the issue. Every other great team in the NBA had competition, 80s Celts, Lakers, Philly, Pistons went back and forth, 90s Bulls were pushed in the finals to 6 games five times, went to multiple game 7s on their way to the finals, Houston got their chips in, 00s Spurs, Lakers, Mavs, Heat, Pistons, Celts, all competed with each other, not to mention the Kings, Pacers, Jazz and other small teams that were extremely competitive at the time. This juggernaught went to 7 against Houston but seemingly only due to boredom. It's not competitive, they have no threat, which makes it dreadful to watch

I think it would be better for the league if they can find 150 decent basketball players and have all 30 teams be competitive. Can't find 150 decent players ? Shame.

What do you mean, you said 150 decent players, so that would make it where all the players are around the relative same skill level, so there wouldn't be any superstars because people's skill would all be around the same.

That makes no sense, players come in the league. They stay 7-9 years in one city. The players can and have been traded at the drop of the dime. So now you want to take rights of players away, so they are stuck at a place forever.

Get rid of the conferences. West v East is crazy. 30 teams, so 29 opponents. Home & away for every team makes a 58 game season. Less money but players stay fresh & play longer. Remove the conference system & the weakness of the east doesn't matter. (NFL should abandon them too)

This happens in soccer all the time. Players constantly moving and certain clubs just stacking up. That doesn’t always mean that marquee club wins it all. Nba issue is just a pure lack of competition.

There is no league without the players. They need to be allowed the freedom they deserve. If a player isn't happy with a situation or a team, they shouldn't have to suffer through that when they have the option to leave and be better elsewhere. Right? I mean, employee wants to stay with an organization they're not happy with?

OMG, I am so tired of Whitlock's takes... He cannot remove is his own personal bias from his arguments. He is not "pro fan" he is pro "Jason Whitlock's bias" which in this episode comes through as "Jason Whitlock's, Indiana Pacers fan bias". And, in other instances, he brings personal bias into a conversation and bullies the other analysts with the same nonsensical takes, without unique insight or fact based reason, but personal bias (go back and listen to his Kaepernick takes with him and Chris Broussard for some glaring examples). He brainwashes himself into believing that his own POV is objective because he lacks the ability to see through the eyes of another person -- aka he lacks of sympathy/compassion. His ego is also too big to ever, EVER admit that someone else may have a goof point and that his mind might be changed. That's why I respect Cowherd, Broussard, Bill Simmons -- they are willing to admit when they erred. It's also why I can't stand Nick Wright. Nick Wright and Whitlock should be on a show together called, "I'd rather argue my point than me right." So.... right now he's upset about Paul George leaving. Period. The fact that he said, "Kevin Durant AND the Warrior's team ruined the NBA," is my case and point. The Warriors were constructed from the draft and, other than Harrison Barnes, NOT ONE integral player has exercised their right to go to another team. Just because KD wanted to play with a team he had chemistry with, that would compete for championships, was revolutionizing the game, had the potential to become an all-time great dynasty, and solidify himself as one of the all tie greats, while going up against his good friend and rival every year in the championships... why is that a bad decision for him or the NBA? That decision has made the NBA more exciting than anything that has happened in that past 10 years! You now have the best team of this era VS the best player of this era going head to head every year and watching how the to entities go about finding new ways to compete with one another is exciting! Also, it has elevated the overall play of the league. The Rockets could have beaten the Warriors. and it looked like they were going to before CP3 went down. Th reality is that, KG and Ray Allen teaming up with Paul P in Boston frustrated Lebron to the point where he said, "F**K this, I am gonna go do the same thing" and left for Miami to try and beat that Boston team he hated so much -- to give them a taste of their own medicine. From thee, he only moved back to the Cavs because they had a top 5 PG (top 7 play imo) in Kyrie, and, at the tie, a top 12-15 player in Kevin Love promising to Join him for another super team. This was BEFORE the warrior had ANY player come join them. They were only able to compete with that Lebron created Cavs team because of injuries in the first two series. And so they realized that and went a got a player that could give them an edge... And now it's all we talk about! It's a conversation that keeps the NBA relevant year-round, "how are teams going to keep up with the Warriors." "Are the Warriors their own worst enemy? The 6th man, motivation." "Which team will Lebron go to challenge the Warriors? Phili, LA, Boston, HOUSTON?!?!..." Jason whitlock, you are an old school dude with blinders on and a lack to ability to see thing s from other's shoes. Because of that, you are turning into grumpy old guy, which I hate, because you weren't always like that. And you are doing a disservice to amazing analysts you bring on the show, interrupt, and don't listen to. Open you ears and close your mouth for a second. You job is to facilitate these conversations, but you aren't doing that -- you might as well just do the show yourself being so unwilling and stubborn in your POVs.

This doesn't hurt the fans. The notion of small market teams doesn't really exist that much anymore. It's a national league. Games are more and more often nationally televised. You're as likely to find Spurs fans in New York as Texas and Rocket fans in California. And does anyone really think it's better for the NBA to have a Spurs vs Pacers NBA Finals?
The most impenetrable game in the world🐶?
