it's so cool that sohla has developed a long shelf-life cookie because she thought of the shipping time. she is a genius

One of the things I love when I watch recipe videos is learning about the "whys" of technique, too. Learning about not just how to brown butter (low and slow, while stirring and listening) but why (to cook off the moisture without burning) was a real pleasure.

I love how she slips so much knowledge into the recipes, I feel I've learnt so much and it does not feel like a lesson

Sohla is the best at this out of all the KZbin food people.

I was totally thinking this as I was watching. I also realized that every time I thought I made brown butter I actually probably burned it 😂
@liviniloap62293 жыл бұрын
yes! the amount of times i've browned butter without knowing that just shows how most teachers / recipe writers aren't as thorough, i can't wait to brown butter now with my new informed perspective

I love how sohla teaches us easy tricks and very important details for us to not make a mistake like “listen to that! Silence! Moisture has cooked out” like howwwww this woman is everything

When I saw this recipe title I figured it'd be too much hassle for me, but after seeing the video there's no way I'm missing it. Sohla is the absolute best for cookie insights and making baking techniques accessible!!

This was one of the hardest cookies to make, but so worth it! Thank you Sohla

I didn’t have enough toffee bits, halved the recipe, forgot to “halve” the egg white, the dough was almost too wet and sticky, it still worked, cookies taste great. I also couldn’t bring myself to make a “piping bag” and just scooped a spoonful of the icing onto each cookie - turns out totally the same. These are SO good.

I only have access to an oven every now and again, so having a cookie that I can make when I can get to the oven and can keep until I can share it with someone without the cookie going stale before that is a godsend!! We can always count on Sohla for great recipes!

These are so good! I could not find the toffee in my local stores, so I did have to make that first, and admittedly I think my butter browned before I got all the moisture out, but even still they were delicious! I want to make a second batch already!
