@@hazelbasil6451they are both KZbin channels. BCU: Babish Culinary Universe (previously known as Binging with Babish). BA: Bon Appétit Test Kitchen, the channel where Sohla (and several others) used to work at. There was a lot of drama there when the Black Lives Matter movement exploded earlier this year.

@@frostyMcnasty so you don’t think brown people should be talented and adventurous in the culinary world? The more POC that are successful at a high level, the more they bring amazing high quality ingredients back to their communities and make that food accessible to everyone. “i feel like lunch is a very inefficient thing”... OH MY GOD YES. As a line cook... I agree with everything Sohla said. You think cooks always eat gourmet??? NAH we have the worst eating habits. I only started eating ‘like a normal person’ when Covid started ofc because of lockdown. I remember when i was working my job at a 5 star hotel. My shift starts at 3pm and supposed to end at 12mn...on a good day hahaha. I won’t get up til 12nn before i head to work just to have enough time to eat “breakfast” (which ofc is a take-out), “meditate” and compose myself for the day (you will need a lot of this working in a kitchen), get ready for work, and light maybe a cig on the way. My lunch break is usually at 4, 5 or 6pm depending on the amount of mis en place. And right after shift, let’s say 1 or 2 am... head to a convenience store and eat my exhaustion (if none of my co-workers forces me to go and get drinks with them hahaha) That’s how it goes, but I love every bit of it. Even the chaos at service, even getting yelled at sometimes haha.
