So many women talk about how they never even learned their natural texture because they had perms or weaves when they were young. My sister is light skin and she doesn't get special treatment from my parents, but my sister has told me she's prettier because she is light and light skin people are more attractive than brown skin people. @ASH SL you'd be surprised... I've seen people upset that their mixed kid looks black or has afro hair. They usually don't complain when it's a boy because, statistically, black men aren't as discriminated against when it comes to dating and if they don't like his hair, they can just shave it off. Colorist parents get upset about daughters with black features because they wanted their kid to be more on the lighter side with looser hair and feel like the daughter won't get as many compliments as other kids that are obviously mixed. Ugh this makes me think of when I was younger and I was always told that I had bad hair and people kept bringing up how I had my dad's brown eyes as if that was a bad thing.
