Brown Fat & Body Heat Activated by Olive Oil! - Thomas DeLauer
Olive oil might just be one of the most powerful fat-burning foods that we can consume. Don't get me wrong, MCT oil is great, too, but the research surrounding the fat-burning abilities of olive oil is truly astounding. In this video, we will do a deep dive into the INSANE benefits of Olive Oil, and discuss its magical component, OEA. Enjoy and I'll see you in the comments!

I really wish people would stop saying that you shouldn't cook with olive oil as if it's some hard and fast rule. As long as you're not exceeding its smoke point it's fine. The advantage of Avocado oil is that it has a very high smoke point, so you can fry foods at higher temps, but there is nothing wrong with sauteing foods in a high quality extra virgin olive oil if you keep the temps below ~325-350 (and extra light olive oil has an even higher higher smoke point).

@ Thomas, option to pin. Okay, usually I but in with extra scientific jargon-nuance mumbo-jumbo, but this time I wanted to share something different. The inspiration for this video actually came from the incidental findings of an n=1 I was performing on myself, swapping out saturated fats in my keto diet for olive oil/avocado oil and oleic acid/MUFAs in general (also rich macadamia). Weirdly enough, my resting blood ketones doubled from ~1.0-1.5 range to the 2.0-3.0 mM range, with no other changes to my intake or lifestyle. Even more weirdly, my colleagues were also commenting that I was unusually “huggy and happy.” Interested in what could account for the change in my ketone levels (the “huggy” observation came only in retrospect after I learned OEA binds to TRPV1 receptors on the vagus nerve to induce oxytocin release) , I did pub-medding and presto… I’m now and olive oil convert and total quality snob! Stay tuned for another TWO Tommy videos on how to choose the BEST olive oils and the five reasons you need to be eating more avocado! Peace! Nick Norwitz Want to know more about olive oil? mdlingo.com/olive-oil-weight-control-mental-health/ mdlingo.com/the-virginity-lie-how-to-find-real-extra-virgin-olive-oil/ P.S. Avocado and olive oil fun facts: · The largest avocado was 5 lbs. · Avocados used to be called “alligator pears” · Avocados evolved to appeal to the extinct giant armadillos and giant sloths. If it weren’t for human’s consuming avocados, avocados would have gone extinct. · An avocado contains more than twice the potassium as a large banana. · Avocados are amazing eye food because they contain both of the two key carotenoids pigments, lutein and zeaxanthin, contained within the human eye. · Olive oil is technically a fruit juice. · The world’s best olive oils are called “two-cough” oils because they are rich in the antioxidant oleocanthal, which causes a peppery sting in the back of the throat. · The city of Athens got its name from the Goddess Athena, who gifted the olive tree to the Greeks.

Big question is: on average, *how much* olive oil is needed to produce a significant amount of OEA (amount?) to produce significant effects (quantify results in real terms, on *average* for regular people with a healthy diet). Otherwise all this could be nothing or negligible without actual numbers to the contrary. How much olive oil? Causes how much fat burning? In healthy humans eating a healthy diet.

Black Spiderman depends on your goals and age. If you’re becoming a professional athlete and want to shorten your life then yea, if you’re having testosterone problems as you get older then maybe it will better your quality of life. The side effects are shortening longevity. Could be 70 years shorter, could be 10 years. If you just want an awesome physique then just diet and workout an hour every day. You’ll look like a fitness model and everyone will wonder if you’re on roids because most people are too lazy to do the research and work, so they rationalize their laziness.

Is it ok to cook with olive oil? I guess there is some debate on this. Apparently, olive oil at high heat denatures into something harmful....or something?

Do you think its olive oil or avocado oil only or mainly monounsaturated fats in general? Because Wagyu has done the same for me also Macadamia Oil Thomas. Thanks! Rp. I saw the video that you put in your answer. Thanks!

I had to research where palmitic acid comes from. It seems that one of the sources is pork. if I smother a piece of pork or bacon with olive oil, does that make it better?

I always have homemade olive oil from my village in Portugal. For generations my family cook with olive oil too by the way, the only thing we don't do is deep frying. I use it on salads, vegetables, cook stir fry, soups , stews, ...etc Nobody in my family r fat or ill from cooking with the olive oil. I'm the only one overweight, probably because I always believed in low fat diets....

Thomas, I have Cirrhosis of the liver and I'm getting ready to try and start a keto diet. Is there anything that would help me not only lose weight faster, but help heal my liver quicker in this life style change?

Look up intermittent fasting. Also, if you're on medication like bipolar or anxiety meds they contribute to the problem.
@dcrock8978

Melinda Dyke fasting for 2-3 days every few weeks. Drink lemon water. No alcohol. Minimize fruit and fructose especially. Intermittent fast frequently and different amounts to keep the body stressed. Don’t let the body become comfortable. Exercise while fasted. Get out of breath multiple times a week. Cold exposure, heat exposure. That should get you started.

@@melindadyke you need to stop any medication. Even tylenol. But if it's something necessary, talk with your doctor. There is plenty of information here on KZbin, also books. But this is very serious. You'll need a liver transplant if you don't do something soon.

@@sandradalton1611, that's why we're trying the keto diet. My doctor's told me I need to lose atleast 100 lbs to even be considered for a transplant, but I start now it could help heal my liver. I'm now 197 lbs over weight right now and have tired to lose weight before and it would go good for a while until I would just stop losing. I can't really exercise to much. Do to car wreck and alot of other health issues. I just got a exercise dvd for exercising in a chair to help me, plus bands and a pedal bike for a chair.
