Hey Thomas, Thank you for this video. Ive been struggeling with my (gut) health for years now due to a bad lifestyle I had for the last couple of years. Traveling, 60 - 70h work week, tons of alcohol, tons of bad foods, working shifts and in different timezones and bad sleep due to partying really killed my health and wellbeing. During covid I focussed on trying to get my health back. Been to doctors and medical clinics before and nothing really helped. For a few years I'm doing self studies and trying things out for myself. Today I saw this video and the garden analogy makes totally sense. The doctors and clinics adviced me to feed my gut with all kinds of supplements and nutriens to restore my gut. What I noticed that it went good for a while but after a few days or weeks I started to feel bad again, even when I was eathing healthy. With healthy I mean clean ketosis. I didnt really know what to do, because bad foods make me feel bad, and good foods too. Im writing down the plan your advising in this video and stick to the plan for the upcoming weeks. I have a good feeling from now on my health will be beter than ever !

oil has tons of calories, so easy fix : eat more oils. Avoid PUFA (omega 6s) youll get plenty of that stuff even when you try to keep them low. Suggestion : make homemade pesto from 50/50 oliveoil/avocadooil tons of fresh basil, lots of pine nuts but easy on the cheese. If you use cheese make sure its organic pasture raised. add this pesto in good amounts to a Buddhabowl : avocado, arucola, steamed mushrooms, steamed asparagus and WHAM you have a super nutrientdence caloriebomb full of the best fiber, fats and protein AND low on sugar and omega6s.

I can vouch for this protocol. I've been doing ADF on and off for the past month. I've noticed a huge difference in inflammation (I've had leaky gut for years)> I increased my protein on refeed days after workouts (eating pastured lamb, beef and salmon). I think it's a good idea to drink beef bone broth too - good for gut as collagen helps heal villi. BTW, I've been fasting 40-48 hrs after every refeed.

I think I m ready to man up and fast for 24 hours to purify the body since I enjoyed too much food for too long without any thinking. Redemption time!. I don’t know about keto though... I will stick to my legumes.. like lentils and beans for proteins, dry fruits and nuts for my fats and fruit salad for my other important bodily values. I m pumped and I m going hard at this. Those who can fast are real sports Kings. Now that is real sports! Good luck to you all! Give thumbs up if you are sick of trying and now ready to “ just do it” like a Nike slogan. ✌️👍

I would like to add that if you’re overweight/obese, please don’t start off alternate day fasting. Start off by simple 12 or 16 hour fasts to develop the discipline and routine, while making good changes to your diet. Those are the things that will make you lose weight and keep it off. Doing something like this straight off the bat is definitely going to be too much for a newbie. If most people had the intense self discipline and nutritional skills to practice alternative day fasting followed by perfect KETO, they wouldn’t be in a position where they need to reset their gut and lose masses of weight in the first place! Baby steps first: get used to fasting, slash that refined sugar and work on your diet, then try something like this

Yes keto ls important to reset your gut, because the typical american diet is full of sugar fructose corn syrup and these refined carbs feed cándida which in most cases evolves into a fungus form, most americans on an average diet have it, so having natural carbs, even fruit will feed the fungus, specially if the person has insulin resistance due to sedentarism high salt intake, and low potassium magnesium, so the glucose fructose can not get to the cell. Most cándida diets are keto, the only fruits allowed in small amounts are lemons, grapefruit, green apples, acai, straw, cran, Blue, berries in general, eaten only as snacks outside meals so the little fructose can get utilized by the body and not the fungus, fructosa when mixed with fats creates a lot of problems in a celular level

1. start with alternate day fasting-DON'T EAT JUNK FOOD(bad bacteria needs to be feed more often good bacteria survives longer without food) 18-24 hour fast- next day no fasting 2. for 2 weeks strict keto diet(No starch or sugar,-No vegetable oils) -No omega 6s (processed foods, peanut butter, -High omega 3s (fish, flaxseeds, chia seeds, olive oil, olives, avocado oil, avocados, grass fed grass finished meat) snacks that aren't high on omega 6s (walnuts, pecans, pistachios, macadamia nuts, macadamia nut butter) 3. Add prebiotics after 2 weeks (artichokes, seaweed, asparagus, cabbage, sauerkraut, bananas, blueberries) probiotics-only work well once you have a good gut to work-good for maintenance once gut is filled with healthy bacteria (Sauerkraut, Yogurt) 4. Hydrate to flush bad bacteria out (take sodium as well)

Thanks again for the good info. Did not like seeing the hit piece on Huffington Post and Food 52 on Keto and IF. Did you all see them?

So in regards to the diet protocol you said to avoid chicken during the keto week. Could I eat chicken if it's pasture-raised? What about beef? Avoid also, or can I eat grass-fed grass-finished beef during this time as well? Just trying to see what protein options I have that aren't just fish.

Hey Thomas, when following the gut reset, should you continue alternate day fasting for the entire 4 weeks or just the 1st week?

If I’m leaning towards a vegan diet, is it still effective to do the 2 week keto w/o the meats & fish ?

I have zero interest in a keto diet, but would do it as part of reseting my gut as I KNOW alot is wrong and has picked up and honestly dont have the patio xe to keep repeat visiting my GP so they can say again "come back if it's still bothering you" anyhow...is there ANY way to do a vegetarian/vegan version of this because it doesn't seem like a good idea to eat only avocadoa nuts flax chia and olive oil lol...
