Hey Thomas, Thank you for this video. Ive been struggeling with my (gut) health for years now due to a bad lifestyle I had for the last couple of years. Traveling, 60 - 70h work week, tons of alcohol, tons of bad foods, working shifts and in different timezones and bad sleep due to partying really killed my health and wellbeing. During covid I focussed on trying to get my health back. Been to doctors and medical clinics before and nothing really helped. For a few years I'm doing self studies and trying things out for myself. Today I saw this video and the garden analogy makes totally sense. The doctors and clinics adviced me to feed my gut with all kinds of supplements and nutriens to restore my gut. What I noticed that it went good for a while but after a few days or weeks I started to feel bad again, even when I was eathing healthy. With healthy I mean clean ketosis. I didnt really know what to do, because bad foods make me feel bad, and good foods too. Im writing down the plan your advising in this video and stick to the plan for the upcoming weeks. I have a good feeling from now on my health will be beter than ever !

Good Job, Thomas ...IMHO, after the age of maturity (26-30), the body doesn't need to eat so much ...I have been 'preaching' a two-day cycle (48-hour) but now find that a (72-Hour) version 'perfects' the body (tone) and eliminates the 'always' worried about food syndrome ...In my 20's (the 1970s) I fasted 'on and off' ...3d, 5d, 8d for two years (Plus lived in a self-built pyramid) ...then went to Hawaii and did a 30+ day fast ...I thought that I had found the 'Fountain-of-Youth' (Ponce DeLeon) When I came off of it I could run tirelessly down the beach at a sprint forever without losing any breath ...I could see 'Aura's and did Iris Diagnosis and Lived in the Jungle of the Big Island (Kona, McCoy's Plantation) and surfed for a year ...Then I went back to the 'mainland' (Las Vegas, NV) and rejoined society ...I have enjoyed your 'dissertations' immensely

I can vouch for this protocol. I've been doing ADF on and off for the past month. I've noticed a huge difference in inflammation (I've had leaky gut for years)> I increased my protein on refeed days after workouts (eating pastured lamb, beef and salmon). I think it's a good idea to drink beef bone broth too - good for gut as collagen helps heal villi. BTW, I've been fasting 40-48 hrs after every refeed.

oil has tons of calories, so easy fix : eat more oils. Avoid PUFA (omega 6s) youll get plenty of that stuff even when you try to keep them low. Suggestion : make homemade pesto from 50/50 oliveoil/avocadooil tons of fresh basil, lots of pine nuts but easy on the cheese. If you use cheese make sure its organic pasture raised. add this pesto in good amounts to a Buddhabowl : avocado, arucola, steamed mushrooms, steamed asparagus and WHAM you have a super nutrientdence caloriebomb full of the best fiber, fats and protein AND low on sugar and omega6s.

Some will hate and disagree with this answer, but SHORT TERM use of appetite suppressants (ephedrine, etc) could help get you through the worst part, which is the first week or two of trying to change your eating patterns. Second, start off with a lighter version of IF. I've seen some research indicating a lot of the benefits of IF actually kick in around the 16 hour mark. So if you can not eat for 16 hours, you have a 8 hour window to eat whatever... Once you get used to eating only once a day (/8 hour window) you can do intermittent fasting no problem. I used to do it, basically, by being super busy all day, I usually wouldn't even notice the hunger until I approached 12-16 hours or so. Sometimes I'd go 16-20 before I even noticed. Then I'd eat a few hours before bed, go to sleep (there's 6-8 hours fasting right there) wake up and do it again. I lost almost 100 lbs doing that-- and I was eating a lot of fast food burgers, Chinese, and pizza lol Once you get into a groove with that, you can drop weight almost shockingly fast! But basically, if you can get yourself over that SHORT initial hurdle where is uncomfortable, it gets much easier, and you can push it further with less discomfort. Also-- plenty of fluids and electrolytes! (And vitamins etc)

Good video! I've become a fast fan in the last 7 weeks. Down 40lbs on keto, IF, and PF. Very curious how Erythritol, Stevia, and Monk fruit impact the biomes. I see your info evolves as new info becomes available and it's been some conflicting info on this in the 'library'. What is the most current. Could have a huge impact on someone following the protocol here, right?

I did a long research about natural and artificial sweetenners and I am pretty sure that they have a strong effect on our gut. Yes! Stevia and suggar alcohols also do this damage on our gut and brain. I searched articles from the last 5 years as a final paper at university.

I would like to add that if you’re overweight/obese, please don’t start off alternate day fasting. Start off by simple 12 or 16 hour fasts to develop the discipline and routine, while making good changes to your diet. Those are the things that will make you lose weight and keep it off. Doing something like this straight off the bat is definitely going to be too much for a newbie. If most people had the intense self discipline and nutritional skills to practice alternative day fasting followed by perfect KETO, they wouldn’t be in a position where they need to reset their gut and lose masses of weight in the first place! Baby steps first: get used to fasting, slash that refined sugar and work on your diet, then try something like this

What about 3 weeks of daily IF (with a 4hr eating window), super-clean keto (less than 10g net carbs a day) and then the last 2 weeks you speak of. I am too thin to do alternate day fasting. I need to eat every day.
