I recently fell in love with the A5 Art. I shot my first light 12 in November of 2017 and I've been on an A5 buying kick ever since. I even buy new parts on eBay whenever I see them lol. Truly thee greatest shotgun I've ever shot imo. And you sir are a pleasure to watch and learn from. I watch every one of your videos. Keep up the great work!

Art's my favorite Browning guru. He knows these guns like no other. Good luck collecting!! If you get your hands on a 28 or 410 Belgium, grab it quick. They're the hardest to find.

Awesome. Great explanation. My neighbor just inherited one and asked me for some help with it. Although I never liked the looks of that "humpback", now I want one because I love the engineering that went into it. oh no, not another one on the wish list !!!

Dad just gave me his Browning 69 Magnum Twenty A5. Restored by Rangemaster Doug Jones. This video answered so many questions for me. Dad had all the rings that came with it as well as the original manual. Thank you for this video!

I love my magnum 20, mine is a round knob though. My dad's magnum 12 came with bear grease to lube the magazine tube. I also have a E grade Remington model 11 made in 1906. Love all of them and all shoot to this day like new. Nothing compares to them either.
@valleyridgesimmentals8969 Жыл бұрын
I have two 20 magnums that are round knob, one may have been changed but the other I'm positive it was originally assembled with the the round knob stock, it all matches to well to be a change and the wear is all the same on the gun, I talked to a guy with a lot of browning back ground knowledge who said there is a likely hood that there were several round knob stocks still in the inventory after 66, I also know some 20 mags stock and forearms were replaced with some nice mahogany looking wood that they had from the Japanese plant which included round knob stocks.

I recently ran across a shop that got in a bunch of A5's from the same person who was no longer able to shoot, he had a pair of Sweet 16's, one a 50's gun, another a 60's gun and the third gun was a pre-Sweet 16 made in 1929. Only reason I didn't buy that gun is because it was still 2 9/16" and someone added a recoil pad (and I am not a fan of the safety in front of the trigger guard). The 1950's gun though is just a gorgeous gun and if I can wrangle the cash I hope it's still there. I had a couple of older Belgian 12 gauges years back but I like smaller gauges to hunt squirrel and grouse with.

great info mr art , good video overall , but i would recommend zooming in close on the rings at different settings so we can see up close exactly which way the rings fit ... and good choice on motor oil , rem oil , wd40 and such and many gun oils are just too thin and wont stay long , i use a light grease on receiver rails and a thick(er) type motor oil or even light gear oil to lube tubes and such

Fired my new to me a5 light twelve. It's a 67, and isn't cycling well with light loads. Thank you for this video, I hope to get mine dialed in over the weekend. May just be dry on the bronze against the tube. And I should probably get a new recoil spring. Compared to my pump action 12g the a5 feels like a 20g. I absolutely love the feel and fit of the a5.

great video. thanks. i dont own an a5 but i do own some guns. ive been using hornady one shot cleaner for a few years and in my experience it is without a doubt the best way to clean a weapon that i have ever used. and ive been cleaning them since the nineteen-fifties. im thinking that if you take that sweet magnum 20ga, set it up for the mag loads after you have cleaned it with the oneshot that it will fire the light loads all day long. i would triple treat the tube the first time you do it. ps im a big fan of syn motor oil also.

I have a question, I have a Browning A5 Sweet 16 that I’ve owned for at least 20 years. I got it out to shoot, after it had been sitting in my gun safe for almost that long. To my credit, I did have it in a silicone impregnated sack. To make a long story short, I can’t get the nut off the fore end to take it apart. I’ve only used my hands, but what is the absolute best way to get a stuck nut off without damaging it or the shotgun, using tools an average person would have?

Do you use synthetic motor oil on the blued part of the gun like the receiver and barrel. I have been using Rem Oil. What weight synthetic motor oil do you use? Would Mobil one work? Would synthetic oil have an effect on the wood?
