Neither Ward, nor Sanders look good to me. As much as it pains me, I would look for QB in free agency. I know nothing great is out there. But if we can get OKAY from the position, that is good enough. Jeanty looks like the only homerun pick on offense in the 1st. He reminds me of a faster MJD. Abdul Carter could look amazing paired with JOK (assuming he returns) I'm not falling for the Travis Hunter hype. Based on where the Browns draft right now.. and how many holes we potentially have. The only good QBs the Browns have drafted since the 80s are Bernie (and he helped the Browns manipulate the supplemental draft so he could be a Brown) and Baker Mayfield (and the Browns thought they were upgrading the QB position by replacing him with Watson). Seems that it’s a tradition that we can’t evaluate QBs. Remember Hue Jackson said he “felt the earth move” when he worked out RG3.

@bcspiel This is not a team that is in a position to be competitive. There's too many question marks and holes around the roster and organization right now, and a lot of that is because the starting QB is taking up so much money and not playing the way he should. Probably won't even be available next year. Your star running back doesn't look the same since his injury. You only have one WR, maybe two with Jeudy and Tillman, and a lot of just guys. A TE that may or may not be here next year, depending on who calls and what they're willing to give for him. O Line has a lot of aging veterans beyond their prime and question marks at both OTs. Defense at least has some promise depending on who comes back next year, but it doesn't mean much if you can't score. You could look at Cousins or Darnold but Darnold is probably above what we can pay, and Cousins probably doesn't want to play outside in Cleveland unless the prospect of reuniting with his OCis too appealing to pass up. You could go get Fields or Wilson, but Wilson will probably stay in Pittsburgh. Fields wouldn't be a bad one year pick-up and probably your best bridge option for a young guy. The only other guys I can think of are Brissett, Heinicke, or Winston. Those are guys that can win you a few games but you're ceiling is probably .500 (probably the best chance to get a better guy next year). I just don't see them looking at this QB class and their roster and thinking one of those two "top" guys can turn things around. This draft has to be efficient. They need to draft the guys that will build the foundation for future success once the Watson contract is done and over with and all their aging veterans are out the door. If they don't think a QB early on is someone who can endure that, then they can't draft them.

Tanking for picks is not what I'd like the Browns to do. There are plenty of good players in the draft. Pick one of them and save team dignity. Watch footage on Sanders, Ward, and Gabriel. Focus on highlights where they have to step up in the pocket and drive the ball into a WR off a read. Throw out runs, scrambles outside the pocket, soft touch like throws. Forget those plays. Now watch and none of them do it.
