Thanks Sam! This area did get hit hard by the Cameron Peak Fire in 2020.. I'm not sure what it looks like through there now, or if its even open.

Planning a camping trip to comanche peak in a couple weeks. Do I need to reserve a camp site or what? Thanks, dude!

I dont do much camping, however its open forest land back there so I do not believe you need a permit. The thing I would be more worried about right now is roads being closed. They might have Crown Point road gated off if thats where you were going.

@@nicksangetta8874 I was looking at a map of the area and there is a church who owns LOTS of land out there. They have a "wilderness retreat" I wasn't sure if it's all private property now?

@@ChefDan1981 Im not sure where the church is. I only know about the CSU campus. But its pretty wide open. There are lots of places to car camp. If you go on the trails 99% of it should be forest land. If its not it will be marked. But people camp all over the place out there.

I actually grew up in Kansas. Although we took a lot of vacations to Colorado I really didnt do my first real hike until 2010. After Sky Pond I was hooked. Moved out in 2013. I'm no expert or anything, I just like it. :)
