You guys on board with drafting a qb yet? I think its obvious that not only they should but are. They've been tanking for weeks. I see a majority of the fanbase saying trade down for picks, get BPA and its like guys they been doing that for almost 25 years. Luck level prospects dont come often and the last one (Lawrence) has just been average. This qb class gets negativity, but I def recall nobody wanted DW and Mahomes was a 2nd rounder with potential but had questions. Same with Allen and Lamar, countless others. I dont see how the organization can go into 2025 and sell the idea of Kirk who is playing at a DTR level, or other vet and some FA and Draft class as the way to being competitive. If you said well they sign Kirk and draft Ward/Sanders I can get behind that. But simply adding a vet and a mid round qb is how you remain mediocre. Plus the wait til next year narrative you hear every year, is different now. NIL changed when prospects declare. Also the fact the FO and HC are even getting a chance to correct the DW trade is crazy. Jets fired everyone already. They almost need to take a qb and hope he hits to save their jobs. Punt and they wont be around in 2026. I'm already seeing articles of Tanner Mckee, McCarthy, Joe Milton lol. Why would they do any of those when they can just take a qb. Its moves like those that always kept this org bad but never bad enough to select #1. I almost expect them to trade up to 1 just to make sure they get their choice of guy. Disagree thats fine, but they have the capital to do it if needed. And this class isnt top heavy with a MG or Orlando Pace type prospect. Its Hunter, a DT in Graham, and undersized edge Carter. I can argue none of those picks will add more than a win or two to this franchise because they dont have a qb. I can put either qb on this roster just this year and I think this team is a .500 team. If vets like Kirk and AR couldnt win with good rosters, why would they be able to do it here? Hopefully the org drafts a qb. If not good luck selling being competitive to MG, vets, and the fan base. I wont bother watching a game if they do some dumb shit like trot out Jacoby Brissett or run it back with Winston and new weapons. Waste of my time. PS. I knew the Browns were going to be bad this year, because they basically ran it back and did no upgrades besides Jeudy. They ignored the RB position again, and didnt bring in any play makers on either side of the ball. I give JJ a pass but he was nothing until Cooper was traded. Every year that I scout I hope the Browns get some of those guys and they never fail to amaze me with the direction they go. The last player they picked that I would have pounded the table for was JOK. If you guys remember DTR was a UDFA prospect but everyone was chasing the diamond in the rough Purdy type player, so Browns drafted him. He's a good kid, just not NFL caliber. But its stuff like that that makes me go, you fans really want to pass on qb at the top of the 2025 draft and play mid round qb again, and/or sign washed up vets. You cant sell me that, and I'll go root for another team before I waste my time watching mediocre football.
