Mudah and Carlist are the two largest online platforms to browse for cars. Each has its strengths and weaknesses. It's best to utilize both to cast the widest possible net in searching for your car, whilst narrowing down your choice to the best offers.
Whichever channel you seek out your used car from, be sure to have the car thoroughly checked, and don't be in a hurry to put money down on a car for which you are not sure about.

one thing about advertising in mudah. they tend to offer a very murah price but it is not that true. i got 2 case . 1- i once try to lookaround for a 1.8 civic. found an ad with a very attractive lower price. call the dealer. The dealer asked to come by, when u come. the dealer told that the car is none existence there. but the ad is still there on mudah. i remember his word " ohhh that one is no more, we just want to tarik people to come" when i asked him why the ad is still around. he says that it been done by his boss. he do not know about it. sheishhhh ! 2- found another dealer. when you come by, they says that the price in mudah is only body price. u need to top up bla bla bla bla to make it OTR. so final price will be the same as other advertisement . haha

Yeah. Hence best approach is straight up bargain on basis of OTR price. If the best figure that the dealer can give you is not to your satisfaction, walk away.

Interested on carlist but then not many sarawakian use it to sell car compare to mudah. Once buy a 2006 manual kancil from mudah, until today sihat :) gonna grab a hilux or other pickups from mudah someday.

which ever platform, make sure the price mentioned is for 'on the road' or 'body only'. i checked and they charge extra rm4000 for puspakom/jpj+documentation fee. the best thing is, that extra rm4000 will be included in your instalments.

I have reported many inaccurate ads on both Carlist and Mudah. Just want to mention that Carlist did not even give me an acknowledgement email to follow up. When I call customer service to follow up. They said they can't do anything. Only check with the dealer/ agent who list it. Need their permission to amend. If they deny can't do anything. If car already sold, the dealer will say still available so the ad will contact to be maintained. I don't know if it's the same story at Mudah but at least there's an acknowledgement email to follow up

Actually for dealer, mileage cannot to trust anymore. Because kantoi them, they buat tak tau or they just said this car is not for you. Meaning they want customer who they can con.

Good day Kon. I have a doubt. Let say I booked a BMW 328i with minor accident happen in the past and I bring it to Wearnes Autohaus for inspection to buy the car. After done inspecting the car from the mechanics at Wearnes, I will get a like report saying that the car is good to run on the road. What if puspakom inspects and says that this car shouldn't be on the road due accident in the past. What should I do? It's doubt from me. Thank you

Puspakom will fail the car if it finds that the chassis has welding joints that are not supposed to be there, indicating it was a kereta sambung... Wearnes check will pick this up. Wearnes check will also be able to detect repairs from severe accidents in the past, although not minor fender benders la. But because the Wearnes check focuses on the mechanical aspect of the car, it may not pick up discrepancies of the chassis and engine numbers. Of course, market rules is that if the car fails Puspakom, you are meant to get a refund.

Sounds like a good deal to me, but be mindful that a 2011 car may not get high financing margin. May need heavy downpayment, especially if you are buying direct from private seller.

Some do, some dont. It depends on whether you are comfortable with the arrangement. If dealer wants your sale badly enough, they will agree.

What i noticed on carlist, the listing does not have the date it was posted. I have came acrossed a few listing which has been sold or no longer available. Maybe carlist should have information such as how long the listing has been posted or maybe update status of the listing every 3-6 months.

From that pool, Vios looks like your best pick la. Latio and City gives you more interior space. SX4 is pretty decent to drive, but is costliest to maintain among them.

Got it Kon. Cause my earlier comment at your channel abt fd2r. A seller mention he want to sell off. An owner and not dealer. He did post at mudah as well. It was a 2007 first batch by Honda Malaysia. Yea abt the loan he also mention for a car that more than 10yrs is very hard to get a loan, I heard that b4 as well. My first car is 7yrs when I bought it. High interest at 5% but thank God still able to secure a 17k loan that time. Now the car still with me and is 21yrs car age now. Current car loan will ends by Apr 2019. That's why I'm starting to look for a car which I wanted. What if my income let's say is comfortable to secure a 100k loan, would it be possible bank will loan it to me? He is selling at abt 110k. Guess I gotta run to most major banks to ask for best deal and if they willing to give a loan to me?

If you really must take loan, I think have to consider personal loan. Interest will be high, but look at the monthly repayments la, if within your means, why not? The FD2R will hold its value.

How bout those 1-2 years old demo cars from dealers like Volvo, BMW dealers? Do I need to go through the whole checking process since they provide some form ofv warranties?

If through official dealers should be quite safe. These guys got a reputation to protect too, so they have an onus to sell you cars in good condition.

For warranty, the cars will usually carry on their existing warranty package. A 2yo BMW, for example, will still have 3 years of warranty left.
