I shared it with my partner when we were getting to know each other online because it expressed my feelings better than I could. My husband turned me onto Bruce way back when we first were dating. His lyrics are so beautiful they can bring tears to your eyes and express exactly what the one who loves you is feeling. Wow! What a songwriter!

If you haven't experienced life...you will never understand what he is representing. But, since most youth nowadays know everything, it's an assignment you have surely failed. It's not your fault, your given the power without the wisdom. Take a breath, don't be in such a hurry and you'll realize Cockburn is doing something that many of us, young an old, ignore. Think of others first withy the foundation of truth. This "me first world" sucks. Cockburn is just great at what he does.

I simply adore this song, I used to listen to Coldest Night of they Year - that song was a milestone in my life.In my early 20's I moved to Ottawa but flew into Toronto to drive to Ottawa just to see what he was singing about. I can not believe it was released earlier and I am just hearing it.

nice video-i have been touched, healed, soothed and inspired by cockburn's music for 30 years now. Amazing guitar, the best lyrics, simple and complex- for those assigned to write on this vid...how about this as a start : our words/thoughts/reactions support us, define us, constrain us. we get caught up in our constructs and they wind up limiting us. to free ourselves and get to the 'real' of who we are takes honesty, work, and the willingness to trust ourselves and others.

Question for Truenorthrecords, why doesn't Bruce come to Japan??? We are dying for real music over here. Bruce went to Japan many times in the late 70's and did many songs about here (Tokyo, Nanzenji), what happened? Would love to have an answer for this. Please do !! I have been a fan since the early eighties and find that Bruce's music just hits the right chord with how I feel about the world. I have had the chance to see him live a couple of times and its been a great experience. Seeing him live at the Folkfest in Winnipeg last summer was great! Bruce even signed my Staff I.D. When is he playing in or around Winnipeg next ??
