Love this album: had the privilege to see him in one of his tour warm up shows LA at Observatory before he went down to South America. Stellar show he/ they did not disappoint. To see him performing intimate setting was a real treat.

Yes saw some videos from these, they looked great. Think I will go see him in the summer. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for watching. I saw that video and somehow it totally made me ignore the song as I didn't really get that video. Then when I listened to the song only I started appreciating it. I need to check the video now again that I like the song.

Honestly I'm not sure how I feel about the album right now.. It seems to be a lot different than I anticipated and not quite as punchy and as many solos or maybe I just need to listen more. I've got tickets to see Bruce at the observatory in California pretty excited for that!! But at the time I'm hoping he plays Mark chemical wedding and accident of birth as well as tyranny of soul albums.

Yes the good thing for me is that I had not been listening to the previous albums a lot for a really long time. So I came with limited reference as such. I just feel that there is so much diversity here and his singing is so good. Thanks for watching.

O.K. I finally listened to the full album and I saw your review. -Many doors to hell ( he’s right, Aristotle had said the same!) my no1 , although I believe this is gonna change many times with this album. -Shadow of the gods ( and so we lay….) beloved ballad.. And so many other things to say about every song of this Mandrake project.. 0:01 There’s so much diversity on this album ! But this is not a problem! It becomes a charming, magnetic advantage! I didn’t expect it, but I’m going to get it soon because I need to listen to it on a right way. Bruce proves himself a real artist. You said something about the lyrics and the heavy metal. Well I’m always stern , rigorous to the lyrics, but I think… you’re right. We don’t need to look for deep philosophy everywhere. Only one mistake, but huge: None is metal god except THE METAL GODS! Next Friday they are coming!!
@metalandrockzone9 ай бұрын
Hahaha Mina, I knew you would notice the Metal Gods comment! I agree with you with that the charm of the album is its diversity and yes Bruce is a true artist because the easy way would have been to make more of the same as he has done before.

@@metalandrockzone So, see you next Friday… As for me there will be no comments.. Since September I already live Screaming and Painkiller days.
@AchilleasLogothetis9 ай бұрын
I would agree with everything you say apart from the 'Face In The Mirror' not being on par with the rest, actually that song wins you over with its simplicity and nostalgic character, I think it medleys down the album perfectly.
@metalandrockzone9 ай бұрын
Maybe it would have been better then as a final song on the album. I agree on the simplicity for sure but it just got a bit repetitive for my taste. Thanks for watching.

I dont get why you guys dont like. I personally think its one of the best songs Bruce has ever produced, and for me its the best song on the album. I was amazed from the first time I heard it.

Makes sense that his inspiration from deep purple would show through. I LOVED some of his early solo work. Accident of birth might be my fav. Tyranny of souls was pretty awesome. Anyway thanks for the great review!
@metalandrockzone9 ай бұрын
Thanks Paul, I really loved that Deep Purple style there. He can become their singer in 2034!

@@metalandrockzone :-). How would you compare this one to say chemical wedding? Chemical wedding actually was somewhat of a thematically held together record as well. And musically really (really) good. TY
@metalandrockzone9 ай бұрын
There are many great songs on The Chemical Wedding and more than I recalled as I ran it though earlier in the week. That album overall is heavier and maybe a bit less diverse somehow and I feel the Mandrake gives more flavours on the guitar sounds etc. He is a bit more adventurous on this album in the sense that I didn't see some of this stuff coming.

It’s a strange listen very different and probably needs several play through to appreciate it🎸🎸🎸

I had the luxury of coming in a with a clean palette as I haven't listened to his old stuff for ages! So my references are maybe somewhere else somewhat. Thanks for watching.

I haven't heard anything too promising so far. It will not compare to Chemical Wedding in terms of musical quality. Seems campy, and a bit more rocky sounding. My dad loves Iron Maiden and his early solo work and i sent him some songs from the mandrake project and he texted "Ew." back.
@metalandrockzone9 ай бұрын
Yes to be honest, I can see how some of the more loyal fans of his previous solo stuff would not like this if they wanted more in the same direction. I however came in with a bit of a clean view on this as I haven't been listening to that stuff for years. thanks for watching. ps. you have a great dad!

Some nice songs (Rain on the Graves) and the beautiful voice of Bruce, but by far the weakest of his 7 seven solo albums IMO 😊
