Bruce performs "Lost Soul" with special guest Shawn Colvin. Bruce was pulling double-duty during this period, touring with both his own band and the Grateful Dead.

I met Bruce back in NYC the very week of this broadcast, he did a concert on the docks, met him back stage , a really nice guy had time for the fans.

Beautiful song! Lovely amalgamation of talent! One of my favorites along with The Show Goes On! And of course we know that Shawn is a brilliant singer and songwriter as well! Love that there's only talent, no ego during the performance!

Why do I constantly feel this way? Great song - never seen any video to it before. Striking voice on Shawn - made me notice here in 1990,

My favourite singer/songwriter of all time. One of my favourite songs, forever. I'm a singer/songwriter. My song, when I die, is a Bruce Hornsby song. Just love his music. (Your music, if you read this Bruce). Just beautiful. So heartfelt.

I went to a songwriting workshop years ago and Bruce's manager was there. He said the record companies all "passed" on signing BH because they had "concerns" about his hair!

wow a very young shawn from the days when she added harmony to others tunes and this was about the time of her breakthrough album 'steady on' which is now a classic.....

Shawn Colvin is great in her own right as I messaged her on Facebook and saw that she read it but didn't respond. That's okay as long as she got my message.

Am I the only one who noticed Shawn didn't sing this part: There was one day oh I can remember He sat alone with a pencil in his hand All day long he drew careful on the paper In the end just a picture of a man An important part of the lyrics!

Um, perhaps Bruce should have given the entire vocal performance, over to the true vocalist, Shawn. He can just play the piano; write the song, etc.
