Bruce's band is so good. These are some great deep cuts. But what it reminds me of is how Paul was at his vocal peak in the 80's. Todd's voice is high as hell and he's struggling (not really - but he's straining) to hit those notes in both songs. You forget just how amazing Paul's voice was back then.

You can also tell when Todd goes into falsetto to hit higher notes - like the effortless “love’s like a glove and it fits just right” vs the lower and more powerful but strained “you make me rock hard, baby all night”. You couldn’t tell as easily with Paul, though part of that was Paul’s normally screechier vocal tone.

Maybe a younger Bruce could've tried it, but Naked City is a very hard song to sing. High as a kite :) Gene really doesn't get enough credit for his singing.
