Wow I'm amazed at so many negative comments from people . These guys paved the way for a lot of the bands you listen to, and as free thinking artists they are free to change up there sound as they see fit. Thats why it is called artistic expression! They not only made a lot of good music, they have inspired many other bands to not only make similar songs, but the bands themselves have been inspired by kiss for wardrobe, impersonators, and other ideas. Lordi, for example, is a band that was inspired partly by kiss with their wardrobe.

Excuse me? What are you talking about? Unless it's Thrash or Death metal, all metal men wore makeup, it's easier to see onstage, Ozzy even wore it. And most of the men in hair metal or glam metal bands are very masculine because it takes being comfortable in your masculinity to wear heels and makeup. Something that most men seem to not understand when they call them sissies or women. I for one think a man in a glam metal or hair metal band is much more attractive than any joe schmoe off the street.

I think what Paul meant was the lyrics. It was too sexual. That and X in sex. Kiss was pretty well known for its theater horror rock tactics whose main target was kids or teenagers and for a band like that to release songs that contain those lyrics was odd.
