Thanks for this update, most appreciated. I spent dozens of hours at the graves in 2000 and 2001 and this is a complete transformation from how I remember it. There was another grave directly next to Bruce's (on the left as you look at it) of a man who died in 1879 and that's gone now a long with a very tall obelisk structure on road opposite and that's gone to and replaced by a flagpole.
@sunnyskytravel45713 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Greg for your comment and especially for sharing our video, it's a great compliment to us! They are definitely transforming the area around their graves, it's been ongoing for a few months now and still not done. No telling what the finished product will look like. We plan to return again in a couple of months and do another update. Stay tuned!

I remember the grave too Greg. Right to the left of Bruce. Surely they couldn't of just got rid of it!? I agree. I went there in 2017 and it was completely different to this.
@shihanUKS3 жыл бұрын
The sight line from the cemetery entrance was clear. Now there is a wall. There indeed was a stone to the left of Bruce right at the root of a big green bush. Taky used to sit on that bench and address the crowd half circled around him to thank them for coming. All thats gone now. That cold brazen walkway with black railing? What was once sacred is now a sideshow walk up...like Pearl Harbor. I remember stones directly in the path of that walkway. I remember the litter I helped to clean up around the site and the sign in book in the office , a separate book now the size of a phonebook still containing the signatures from 1973 covered in plastic. First, they took down statues saying they were offensive in the name of progression. Then changing the meaning of words in the dictionary. Now headstones are being removed to accommodate the tourist. Lee was known on film sets for eating lunch with the crew, not the white collars. Lee would have never asked to be treated any differently then that gentleman from 1879 with the smaller stone no longer there lying next to him.

What a beautiful cemetery!! They put our cemeteries to shame here in New York. It must be tough on the families of adjoining graves when they are looking for some solitude. Have to be honest, it felt a little disrespectful when that woman started posing for pictures in a martial arts stance and laughing, I probably view paying ones respects a little differently I guess. The seat is interesting though, they also have one here at Harry Houdini's site. Like I said though, I'm quite impressed by how nice the cemetery looks!!

It really is a lovely park-like setting and the spot where the Lees are buried is one of the best in the cemetery overlooking the hillside and Lake Washington in the distance. We agree with you about the attitudes of some who come there. I was taught at a young age to respect the dead and the grounds they reside in. Most were quiet and respectful but you will always get a variety of responses and we wanted to show them all. Thanks for stopping by and for your great comments, we always appreciate it!

When my boyfriend and I located Bruce's grave in late 1993, there was a man standing there already, so we stood back at a distance to wait our turn. After a few still and silent minutes, the man did a quick martial-arts-style bow (to Bruce) with prayer hands, and turned and walked away. Apologies that I can't describe it well... but I was very moved. THAT's the way to show respect when visiting the resting place of Bruce Lee.

Thanks for watching and leaving your thoughtful comment. The majority of people, judging from comments on here, would agree with you. The explanation we've heard is it was necessary due to the extremely high volume of foot traffic the Lee gravesite generates, people were trampling the surrounding area into oblivion. Although the new look isn't very pleasing aesthetically it does serve to keep the area from being trodden all over.

This is disgusting and it resembles a fairground attraction. This man was buried here for it's peaceful setting and it's natural beauty. Obviously it's had it's visitors, which is understandable, but Linda and Shannon have turned it into a joke. I don't think Robert, Agnes and Phoebe will be happy with this. People will feel rushed into leaving due to queues behind, and won't feel that quiet contemplating anymore. Why do people always meddle with a beautiful setting? Shame on you Linda and Shannon. You've turned two beautiful people's resting place onto a joke. 🙏🙏🇬🇧🇬🇧

Bruce Lee gravestone used to be truly one of the most magical places in the world and now it has lost it forever. Sad
@zzzthaoster3 жыл бұрын
The purpose for this upgrade with the railings is so people use it instead of just stepping all over the place and destroying the area like before. Have you not seen how bad the area look before, all the grasses surrounding the area were gone and destroyed due to high volumes of visitors.

It must get very busy here during birthdays and death anniversaries. I think having the walkway would also be accessible to wheelchairs. But I agree about making it like an attraction site. It has become even more public.

Completely different when my and I visited in '96. This new looks suck.
@sunnyskytravel45712 жыл бұрын
Most of the "new look" has been done in the last year, the area was getting overrun and trampled by too many people so this is the end result of so much love and attention paid to them. Thanks for watching!
