This song reminds me of the time my wife of 60 years and i eloped and headed South from NJ to Route 66 in her ember glow 65 Mustang convertible. The only song i remember hearing on the radio then was the Trogg’s “Wild Thing “ , while driving thru the Mojave desert . We ended up settling down in Huntington Beach , in a furnished apartment 1 block from the surf for $120 a month. No jobs or worries yet! They really were the “good old days”😍😍😍

Ill Never forget the 1st Day I heard this song. It was 1979, me and a Buddy went on a Road trip to Wisconsin, Drinking, Fishing etc. From the 1st moment i heard this song I became a Springsteen Fanatic. Best Song Ever. Our Last Road trip was to The Football hall of Fame. Bruce Happened to be in Cleveland. We purchased some sweet seats from a scalper. It was a Night I'll never Forget. This song was always well written. The energy and passion of Melissa Etheridge make it unmistakable. This is as good as it gets. Not sure if I will live long enough to have a song grip my passion as this one does. I've just seen "Bruce Springsteen Storytellers" DVD, where The Boss accompanying himself on piano, guitars and harmonica, along with the story behind each song. The last one is Thunder Road, the only one he plays two times: just singing the first time and explaining it the second time. To a sure point, he effects himself, making me cry.
