I've seen Springsteen several times, and that man in his prime was absolutely unparalleled in the energy he put out over nearly four hour shows. Killer performer.

This is just flat out what this man was born to do... if you go to a springsteen show and say “this is too long” at any point... you dont belong there in the first place

Guitar player is Nils Lofgren. He also played with Neil Young in Crazy Horse, and made his own music. Anyone that likes this performance would also like Tenth Avenue Freeze out, from the same show.

Or Backstreets. Or Badlands. Or that killer Prove it All Night when he and Stevie trade vocals...or... That "reunion" tour was the first time I saw them live, in Pittsburgh. That's when I went from a growing like for E Street to a straight up convert. That night. 20,000 fans were in the band. That's what it felt like. If you are in a city's downtown the night of a show, you can tell who was there. They're the ones walking ten feet above the ground. Actually, the Badlands from the 2002 Barcelona show is AMAZING. That crowd LOVED them some Bruuuuce

I have been to 43 shows to see Bruce. He never disappoints of music, lyrics, showmanship or energy. The band at the time of this performance had jus come back together after Bruce tired of his solo career. That's testament to how tight these players are as a unity and testament to how much the revere the Boss. Two of the member have passed on. Organist Danny Federici and the sax player Clarence Clemons, But the two guitar players (Nils Lofgren, and Little Steven Van Zandt) Bassist, Gary Talent, Drummer Max Weinberg, Pianist, Roy Bittan and Acoustic Guitar/background vocalist/wife Patti Scialfa were with the band before and all were part of the last tour in 2019. Tom Morello plays with them as well. Someone mentioned 10th Avenue Freeze Out Live in NYC as well. Great recommendation and just as much fun. But I would also recommend the much earlier Rosalita (Come Out Tonight) (Phoenix, 78) (from Thrill Hill Vault 1976-1978) which has the same bandmates except Patty. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJ3Wc32ufZZ2jck

Greetings from Canada, again,eh!! Finally, somebody who "gets it". It's the music and the show, together they form an incredible emotional journey throughout the night. This is why I have been to over 30 shows and would like to keep going. Bruce's ability to bring the crowd into the show, to feel a part of something special, is a unique talent he has and at the end, your as spent as the band is!! "Light of Day" was a movie with Michael J. Fox and Bruce wrote the theme song for it. I'm sure other comments will mention the GREAT GREAT Nils Lofgren on guitar. Nils has his own career, played with Neil Young ( good Canadian Boy) helped him with "Southern Man". Nils is new too the band, only been in it for 35 years...........love your reactions, it's what music is all about, fun, entertainment and a sense of communion with the band........ROCK ON!!!

I've been listening to Bruce since 1980. He's probably the greatest artist in the history of rock. Did you know that he had 7 top 10 hits off the album Born in the USA. Only Michael Jackson has equalled that. He's also the only artist in history to have every album he released in the charts at one time. That was after 7 albums. He played to 300,000,000 people when the wall went down on old East Germany. Born to run put him on the cover of both time and news week magazine in 1975. He's one of the top grossing artists in history. At 65 yrs old, his international concert tour grossed more than anyone except Madonna. Both of them outperforned, by far, any modern artist. Bruce is thd only artist to have a 24/7 Sirius XM Channel which plays 95% hos music. All other Sirius artist channels play a mix or only last a month or two. Bruce's concerts, to this day sell out in minutes. Regardless if it's 20,000 or 100,000. His stint at Giants stadium in, I believe 2009, sold out in minutes. 80,000 a night 7 nights straight. If you want to hear some really good stuff, Check out his live video. Too many songs to mention as there are several hundred that are well know. Off the top of my head, he has 29 studio albums. "Ghost" his latest, at 70 yrs old came in at #1 in the UK and #2 in the USA, also topped charts globally. Check out live performances from 1978, which were arguably some of his greatest performances. Prove it all night, badlands, 10th avenue freeze out, Racing in the street, the mini rock opera "Jungleland". Growing up, blinded by the light, Candy's room,. Later, The River, independence day, Sherry Darling, out on the street, wreck on the highway, Cadillac ranch, Ramrod, Nebraska, Johnny 99, Atlantic City, Human Touch, Wrecking ball, if I should fall behind, the ghost of tom joad, magic, girls in their summer clothes, Brilliant disguise, One step up, Wrecking ball, etc, etc....then dc the new album.....ghosts, letter to you, janey got a gun, in my dreams. You can dig deeper. Google Springsteens top 325 songs. A critic catalogued them and ranked in order. You owe it to yourself to check out his body of work one album at a time from over 50 years. Have fun as millions of us have on this journey!

hey David, another Springsteen analysis, another satisfied Springsteen fan. You've taken a few requests from me and I have another. Bruce Springsteen , 2002 live from Barcelona. The song: "Incident on 57th Street". Just Springsteen and his piano and a beautiful song. Shows you the talent he has as musician and master storyteller. Rock on!

This one of my favorite live Springsteen songs. Written by Bruce and originally recorded by Joan Jett for the movie of the same name. And the pick less guitar player is the great Nils Lofgren. The rip on NY is classic NJ/NY rivalry.

This is what Bruce is all about! The finger-picking guy is Nils Lofgren. He's a great player, and gets the occasional chance to really shine in the E Street Band - especially with 'Seeds' and 'Youngstown' live. The performance of the latter from this same show is a great example, and is also on KZbin

What really puts this in to perspective is this song closed the main set before the encores. So the band is bringing this level of energy about 2 hours and 45 minutes in to the show, knowing they've gotta come back out and play about 6 more songs, 5 of which are gonna bring the house down with more energy than this one had.

Good Morning from the opposite coast! So happy to wake up to a Springsteen video performing in the City! You made this Jersey Girl very happy on a rough day. My dad died 25 years ago today, feels like yesterday,, & my birthday is next Tuesday so the two have become forever linked. So, thanks for starting it with the Boss, Dave! 🤗 FYI, half the crowd is from Northern Jersey, as well as the rest of the state.. The City has been my main destination for many endeavors including hundreds of shows starting in 1978. We are less than a mile away, just a 10 minute ferry ride, it's so damn close. We'll cheer enthusiastically when NYC is invoked, always, we love it. But when anyone, esp. Bruce, shouts out Jersey in NYC, we'll loudly claim it, esp the NJ Giants. It's not like we're in Philly, lol. (But we go down the shore, that's totally a Jersey thing.) 😝 Bruce is a live performances master. Half musician, half rock & roll preacher - god, his shows are so much fun! Thanks again! Have a great day, unless you have other plans.! 🤣🎶🤘

When you reacted to U2 recently, you commented on how solid the bass and drum were together- I've always felt that Max ( father of Jay, who filled in for dad on tour as a pre-Slipknot teenager when Max couldn't get away from. Late night TV to tour) and Garry W Tallent on bass ( plus Roy Bittan on piano) were the backbone of live ESB - they never miss a cue and let Bruce be Bruce live Max reportedly got this gig back in '75 cuz at the audition he was the one drummer who kept eyes on Bruce and didn't miss the cues for the audibles

Drummer Vini Lopez allegedly had a fight with their road manager and either quit or was asked to quit. Details are sketchy. Anyways Born To Run was the first song recorded for the album. It featured Ernest "Boom" Carter on drums. Recording sessions lasted on an off for 6 months and the mixing even longer. In the meantime Carter and David Sancious left to form jazz group Tone. Max was then brought in for the rest of the tracks.

They're not booing him. They're chanting "Bruce." He says that at the start of their career he used to think they booed them all the time until they did one of their best shows at some festival and when they were done and he walked backstage he told I think Tom Petty, who also played that festival, that he didn't understand why people were booing them after what he felt was an awesome performance and Petty told him that he was mistaken and that if he listened more carefully he'd realize they were actually calling his name.
