What an ABSOLUTE HONOR to listen to one of the greatest engineers the world has ever known and NEVER known . People have enjoyed sooo many recordings and had ZERO idea that the Great Bruce Swedien engineered and recorded those great sounding tracks . I sooo wish I could have personally known him and had the pleasure of personally learning from him . Priceless are the value of his interviews . Thank You for sharing

In those later albums there’s so little compression or crazy ssl drive and they still sound so good and amazingly contemporary. Such total skill and hard earned knowledge! Thanks for the video.

RIP Bruce. I just found out about you, but realize how much of a loss we took with you being gone from this earth. Your great contributions to music will never be forgotten !!

Bruce was so good at what he does and you can tell that he completely understands getting good takes. You can tell during the interview that he is aware of restarting from certain points to get the story right...even to the point of asking the interviewer to stop and restart the tape again. One of the best to ever do it! My mixing idol! RIP

I like how centered and down to earth Bruce was. His pioneering vision and work influenced so many people and still he felt lucky and grateful for his journey in music recording without any arrogance. All for the music, respect.

Such a treat to watch this legendary engineer discuss the recording medium. I wonder if the great Swedien would have also been excited for Atmos or if he’d think it’s a nonsensical technology for music.

Was this recorded using blumlein array? The stereo image is so narrow and precise.
@TrondBraaten3 жыл бұрын
Recorded with the mics on the camcorder, a Sony, in an X-Y configiration.

The idea of a blumlein pair is to achieve the total opposite of a narrow stereo image

When was this recorded?
@TrondBraaten2 ай бұрын
@@KoendeJong late ninties. I’ll check to see if I can find the exact time. It was made when Bea and Bruce were living i Connecticut, from 1996-97 until 1999.

Such an ironic shame to record an interview with the master of audio recording and fail the audio recording\mixing for the video. Shame on the editor\uploader!

Hi. 🙂 Please, let us pray together. Dear God who art in heaven hallowed be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever in Jesus Christ's name we pray amen. 1 Corinthians 16:14 Let all that you do be done in love. Philippians 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 1:2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. May all suffering end as we give thanks this day. May God's face shine upon us forever on Earth as it is in Heaven in Jesus Christ's name we pray for His name and for His sake. Amen.
