but thre's a huge problem in the second part. It states something, that never been written , and we have been warned off in Matthiew 4:10 Since they try to quote the bible don't they? . Personally I've discovered it recently, by curiosity, because I liked it very very much, but strangely had never sang it after the first chorus so I didn't care but when I recently took time to translate the second part, I read that according to them "God3 would have " turned stones into bread" I understood why I had never bothered to sing any further than the chorus. Do you know that In fact it is one of the three propositions of the devil to Jesus in the desert? And Jesus refused to turn stones into bread ans said that "a man would not live only on bread but on any word come out of God. " then devil asked him to jump of the cliff to" prove he's from God", and Jesus answered not to test the creator, and finally he tented him to possess all terrestrial realms IF HE BOWED TO SATAN and Jesus answered he was here to serve only the creator. they would have been better off saying something like '' Jesus multiplied breads from 5 breads "and "multiplied fishes from the Jordan", or" God sent them manna,"' ect... one should beware, I reckon it is a dangerous sentence not to be repeated ever, but check it by yourself and do what you think is good. ..

I liked his music from the 80's. I grew up seeing him on MTV in the spring of 1983 with his music videos for Billie Jean and Beat It which featured Steve Lukather of Toto and Eddie Van Halen on guitar. And I saw We Are the World on MTV in early 1985 when my father was still alive. He passed March 8, 1986 from a car hitting him while walking across the street 2 miles from our house at night. I lost my mom on June 14, 2022 in the hospital because her lungs gave out, they had her on a vent for several days. The best decade of music was the 80's. Nowadays today's younger generations especially females worship Taylor Swift, lol.

The negative influences of this world are designed to make our heart sick through emotional & physical pain resulting in a given person turning to music as one source of comfort to the body. The painful realty of this existence gives rise to the birth of music in two forms, earthly & HEAVENLY. Earthly music speaks to the experiences of this world through the singer-song writer’s eyes. Oftentimes drug use (i.e. alcohol, smokes, marijuana, cocaine, opioids, benzos and propofol to name a few) is intertwined with the survival of an artist to deal with the pressure of performing in order to stay relevant in the music industry, and to serve as fuel for creativity. As a result, music celebrities develop a tendency to sin against their body, through excessive drug use, for not measuring up to or to satisfy the demands of their music. Any earthly joy they experience is darkened by the heavy burden of performing and the loss of privacy. The end users of their music become fans because the lyrics are relatable and the sound of the singer’s voice & rhythm helps them cope with the pains of this reality. Unfortunately, this band aid approach is only a time out from the hurt and in the meantime we are fortifying its wall with painful memories waiting in line. Who can save us from wounds that are silent, wordless and cruel all the while tearing us apart inch by inch on the inside, which could radically accelerate the demise of the human body? I will use caps as emphasis to show the honest reverence for GOD'S SOVEREIGNTY when writing about HEAVENLY music in the paragraphs below. That INVINCIBLE DIVINE be our HEAVENLY FATHER, WHO THROUGH HIS SON’S MISSION HAS INSPIRED believers to write songs that sing of HIS LIFE GIVING LOVE to deal with emotional & physical pain, economic instability, mortality and the emotional instability of others with the motive of winning over souls for HIS KINGDOM. The melody & theme of HEAVENLY music is hateful and intolerable to the devil, a spirit which causes us to be blinded of the effects of sin and is responsible for the woes of this world such as melancholy, anguish, tribulation and trial. These agitations of the soul create a heavy burden for the lost and could lead him or her to be hostile of songs that sing about GOD’S GLORY. This makes it clear that we cannot win the spiritual battle by our own strength. Moreover, on earth the devil has no equal. GOD has provided us with the ONE WHO CAN AND WILL LIFT the heavy burden of sin's guilt from a given sinner's heart if he or she (through faith) would open their understanding to Psalms (starting with the focus on Psalms 51:1-10 KJV), and hymns/songs giving praise to HIM for the purpose of being persuaded, converted and healed by the HOLY SPIRIT from within by transforming your body/temple into a meeting place for you and the KING OF THE AGES to commune as friends through the born again experience (repentance manifesting itself in a changed life). It is only here that the fears of tomorrow will diminish, the blessed assurance is given that you are HIS and HE LIVES. Once the blessed assurance is known in prayer (through the confession of wanting salvation from one’s sinful nature, combine with admitting that JESUS CHRIST is LORD and believing in one’s heart that GOD raised HIM from the dead to deliver us from sin's guilt) the world can never take it away because the world didn’t give it to you.

By the time the "We Are The World" single was released in March 1985, the peak of Waylon Jennings' singing and performing career had already passed. The Dukes of Hazzard series finale had already aired on February 8, 1985, and Jennings had already written all but one of his U.S. Country Chart-topping singles, with his final one being 1987's "Rose in Paradise". Jennings certainly did not come off great in The Greatest Night in Pop, and his record sales gradually fell throughout the latter half of the 1980s. There is no exact translation for Karma in Swahili, but this is the closest: malipo kwa matendo yake -->> "reward for his actions" !

I am a Malaysian. No one knows who actually funded Bob Geldorf. He is Ananda Krishnan a philanthropist who told me that he happened to be in a London pub and sitting next to him was this guy moaning that he wanted to save Africa from starvation.Ananda gave USD 1 million.Ananda laughed saying We Are The World made more money than the USD 1million. Thank you Ananda ..proud of you. Marian from Malaysia ❤

I remember Prince was invited, but declined. Where was Meat Loaf, Whitney Houston, and artists who are still alive like Madonna, Dolly Parton, John Mellencamp, Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart, the members of KISS, and Stevie Nicks?

Yep, music is magic and it touches us all regardless of culture and language. USA4AFRICA is a wonderful example of people's potential (especially in the US) when they set their mind to humanitarian causes. And in doing so, assure from A to Z that the proceeds reach their destination and objective (it can lose up to 60% in logistics costs). We need more caring and open-mindedness and less selfish behaviour.

The one non-musician attending was comedian and actor from The Blues Brothers Dan Aykroyd who at the time was wrapping up filming of Spies Like Us. And just had a hit with Ghostbusters. But his inclusion was solely due to his work with The Blues Brothers. He was able to sing and therefore was included.

Waylon Jennings isn't the only one credited with being on "We are the world" and not actually being there. Because Bob Geldof himself was also invited to be there and walked away. But the circumstances are different, he saw that there was a large lavish banquet being brought in so everybody could eat. Which he figured, pun intended, was in very poor taste. He threw some choice words at Lionel Ritchie who said "that's just the way things are done in America." and stormed out. In contrast: when Band Aid recorded "Do they know it's Christmas?" and people got hungry, they just send out a crew member who bought some grub from a nearby snack bar. NOBODY said "I'm too famous to be eating that!"

Actually for Waylon Jenning's reason, (from the documentary for We are the world in netflix) the first reason STARTED with Stevie Wonder's suggestion for Swahili which many of the other singers had trouble with it and Bob Geldoff said it was unnecessary since they're not singing directly to Ethipians they're singing to the rest of the world, and 2ndly Ethiopia speaks Amharic if I recall correctly, prompting arguments that lasted a while, Waylon walked out cause it wasn't English, Alternatively, Michael Jackson suggested "Sha-la-sha-linge" to compromise, it was a good suggestion but they weren't real African words(as pointed out by Smokey Robinson), so they settled for "One World, Our Children, One World, So let's start giving" for Harry Belafonte, Belafonte was given a tribute because We are the world was bascially Harry's idea, he started the idea initially wanting "Black people to be helping Black People" ultimately Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie writing the song(originally Stevie was set to write but had a tight schedule) Quincy Jones producing it, and eventually having different big artists come together to record the song.

Bob Geldof didn’t just go on to launch Live Aide (just being a featured in the We Are The World chorus) - he inspired We Are The World into existence as he did the same thing first in Britain which inspired Harry Belafonte to have American musicians do what Geldof & the Brits did first!
