There was a cabin on the Georgian Bay shoreline I think a storm shelter,accessed from Cypress Lake Park but was open for hikers to use back in the 80s ,wondering if it's still there.

You’re looking at Georgian Bay. Lake Huron is the west shore.

Yes, but technically Georgian Bay is just a very large ‘bay’ on Lake Huron.

3:47 should be looking out over Georgian Bay. Nice video - great place - keep it beautiful!

Yes indeed, that part of Lake Huron is one of the southern most point of Georgian Bay.

Great. There are dedicated pegs with springs for use with these types of wood platforms. Do you know if campers are permitted to use small wood twig stoves? also, do camper have to camp on the platform? Reason for asking is to setup a hammock for sleep. I mean , look like several trees around the deck... so... just wondering.

Yes, I highly recommend those for platforms. They're called fishbone stakes as they look like fish bones. :)

What size tarp did yall bring for your rain shelter? Thanks
@TheOneCanoe3 жыл бұрын
I think that was an 8x12, or possibly an 10x15. Enough to cover 2 tents.

2:00 lol... " we made an executive decision " ... from my experience that generally means the same as... we done away with democracy and went with the autonomous rule of the one superior scout...btw.. i'd def double the guy in the hat and glasses as Frank Dennie if i was making a movie about the Capreol Ontario area... dude loves to hike and study trails...

Thanks for watching. Never heard of Frank, so I'll have to check him out.

Was there a water crossing along your hike to storm haven?
@TheOneCanoe3 жыл бұрын
No, no water crossing, just a few little drainage creeks, no more than a meter wide.

Bruce Peninsula is unfortunately lost. I waited in queue for 2 hours. Then waited 25 minutes to book after 3,100 people infront of me. I didn't get anything for August long weekend and I'm talking car camping at Cyprus Lake. People are using software and bots to get in early and parks Canada could care less. It's so lucrative up there now people are willing to pay 30 dollars to park for 4 hours. And it's all run by high school kids that have no answers to the difficult questions you ask. But hey when your making that much money, why would you care.

Yes, I agree… booking these popular sites, especially on a holiday weekend is almost impossible.
