We finally caved in and watched a newer Bruce Willis movie. And I'm not happy about it. It sucks that Bruce Willis is in crap like this. Even Frank Grillo couldn't save this one from the trash heap.

It was just announced that Bruce Willis is suffering from aphasia (I had to look that up because I'm an idiot). Obviously, we didn't know that when we recorded this. I hadn't even heard the rumors about him until editing the episode. Fortunately, we didn't go in on him too hard in this, but bitched about the movie more instead. Because of that, I'm going to leave this up. Obviously, take what I said about him looking like he's falling asleep during this in the context that I'm just a guy who watched a new movie without knowing anything about it. I hope the best for Bruce Willis and his family.

He's on the set 1 to 3 days. He gets payed 1 million per day. So these low budget movies cant afford him for longer. He delivers a few lines for one or two days, minimal effort. Get 1 to 3 millions for it. The producing company gets to put Bruce Willis on the cover. Thats it. Lately a lot of people are speculating for some reason that he suffers from dementia so he's trying to get as much money as possible for his family. Who knows

My father is suffering from dementia, if you look Bruce has an earpiece in on all these movies so that they can feed him his lines. One of the issues with the disease is not being able to remember new information. It's not fun, and the care is extremely expensive. It's heartbreaking as my father is a shell of the former person he was. He was an extremely sharp and witty guy. Now he has trouble remembering to eat. One thing my father says is that he wishes he could work so he could help out. He is very fixated on making sure his family is going to be OK, as he knows his time is limited. My Grandmother died from it as well, so I guess I have it to look forward to. I don't blame Willis if he wants to cash in on his fame. If people didn't buy these movies, the market would dry up and he would stop doing them. As long as the demand is there, he will supply it. I hope he finds peace. If won't take more than a few years, if he does in fact have it.

@@jumpcutreviews1545 There is no demand for these films. They are Red Box fodder. The only people buying them are KZbinrs to make fun of and trailer trash. Willis shouldn't have to lower himself to make these. He should be one of the richest actors in history and shouldn't need the money. He takes away from the production when other people are actually working hard and this old has-been comes on the set for 3 days and takes half the films budget? To hell with Bruce Willis. Stop throwing him a pity party. He's a dick.

I'm so sad to hear that Bruce Willis has aphasia. It explains this performance. The guy really cowboyed up to keep working and fight it on his own. No a fan of Emily Dickinson, but one of her quotes seems appropriate. Near death she wrote "Because I could not stop for Death, He kindly stopped for me" A great race horse still runs to the finish line in his last race Thanks Bruce for some great fun. The rumor circulating is less that he doesn't care.. and more that he seems to suffering from memory loss or dementia which is why he's barely in these movies, barely speaks when he is, and why his line delivery seems so bizarre since he regularly wears and ear piece. Bruce Willis suffer from a medical condition that leads to massive cognitive decline and inability to communicate verbally, it's not something that happened overnight but developed over the span of years and years. His family has now thankfully convinced him to retire. Actors and directors that have worked with Bruce the last 5 years described their evaluation of him as "dazed and confused. couldnt remember any lines or understand the plot". "What do you do with these old action guys...." 1) Since they are making cameos anyway, you don't make them the action hero. You make them be the mentor to a younger, actually capable hero. 2) Put them in more of an introspective where they look back over their life as a war hero/top badass secret agent, and they contemplate their own morality for the things they've done. The action scenes could be flashbacks of what they did in the past when they were still young, and not playing the badass role now that they are pushing 70. 3) Same as above, but instead they realize what they've done to their family. Never being there. The mission was the most important thing. Now that they've retired they face the fact that they don't know their wife and kids at all. Their wife has grown estranged, now that the kids are grown up, she wants a divorce. She'd been seeing other people this whole time. The kids don't even know who he is other than he is father in name. They don't respect him. They don't listen to him. They want nothing to do with him now that they are also adults and are getting ready to live their own lives. Realizing he failed there, he decides to come out of retirement and go back to the service or "the agency" only to realize the game has passed him by. He's not physically capable of doing the job anymore, and he's not up to speed with the technology to be of any use. If anything, they give him a "figurehead" desk/pencil pusher job where he realizes he has no power and isn't the new age slick/smooth political type that schoomzes their way to power. The outcome from here could go a number of ways. These are just the top of my head ideas. I am sure if I was paid millions and spent a few months I could come up with a lot more.

There have been rumors of him having Dementia but there has been no official statement just rumors coming from people who know a guy who knows a guy who was some random person on set. Personally the downfall of Willis was that 5th Die Hard movie. He was playing what felt like a parody of John McClane and that was back in 2015. Looking at his IMDB, he was in seven movies in 2021 alone. That is insane. If he truly is ill then it sucks he has to end his career like Sean Connery did, really talented actor wasting turning down roles in truly great movies to do B movie nonsense. If rumors are true then I feel bad for the guy but I can't imagine someone with the Star power he has to not really need to do this stuff for the money and he can just retire to be with his family. I don't know if any of the rumors are true but he is one of my favorite actors and it's sad to see him in all these B movies.
@GrackAlaciN
@GrackAlaciN 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, until there's actually some official statement about him suffering from dementia, I think you have to assume Willis is where he is, because he stopped caring a long time ago. For me the signs started with Cop Out, and Sly calling him greedy and lazy a few years later. Which is really interesting, because Kevin Smith described how Willis saw himself as kind of the "keeper of Die Hard", when they worked together on Die Hard 4.
@cloud2018

@@GrackAlaciN It's impossible to know whether he has a genuine health problem or if fans are just assuming he does to justify the massive decline in the quality of his work. @@cloud2018It could also be that big names don't want to work with him anymore. Even before Cop Out and Sly calling him out, there were rumors that he was hard to work with. Looks like the rumours have been officially confirmed today. Willis has been suffering cognitive decline in the form of aphasia, which affects basic communication skills. It supports the hypothesis that he's been cranking out these no-effort turkeys the last few years in order to cram in as much work as he could while he still could. I wouldn't blame anyone who's been criticising Willis up until now because I still think it was a questionable career choice and cynically disrespectful to the fans, but I guess now we know why it's been happening, it's nothing but a tragedy deserving empathy for Willis and his family. I'm hoping you don't do any more Bruce Willis movies in light of this and go back to ripping Seagal. That bugger has no excuse.
