I'll say it here, agree or not, this is the master work by Chopin, not only that, but his most demanding work to intepret and to display the proper thecnique. Full of colour, this is the most Chopin work as posible.

One of Bruce’s winning factors is that he plays with spontaneity and freshness, even though he must have practised and played the pieces millions of times. The music seems to just flow out of his mind and fingers on the spot, rather than heavily contemplated.

I don't know why some people delusionally view Liu's performances from the competition to be "spontaneous", he seems to be pretty careful with the polyphony between the voices, the rhythm and the overall feeling of a polonaise. Other contestants, in contrast, played this piece with only their right hands.

That’s impossible. I feel it but isn’t going to make the piano string vibrato sound better. Causes a lot of tension! I like his Crispy and clear touch though
@Thiago-px9ev3 жыл бұрын
@ It's actually to release tension. Argerich does that a lot too. The point is to leave just a small amount of pressure on the tip of the finger, just enough to make the key still pressed down, but releasing tension on the other fingers, hand, wrist, forearm etc.
@Thiago-px9ev3 жыл бұрын
@ The "vibrato" is to make sure everything else is released and you're just laying on that specific finger by a small amount of pressure. Try it! It's a very cool thing to do.
@maulcs3 жыл бұрын
@@Thiago-px9ev I've been guilty of it myself and I've never experienced it "releasing tension". It's just a visual flourish, a pointless habit. He does a similar thing when he waves his hand around when it isn't being used.
