Wow, that came out so nice! What an amazing kitchen accent, really pops with the cabinets!

I agree! The color of the wood really brings out some of their accents. Thanks, Ethan!

Thanks, bud! The bruise on my thigh is not loving it, but I'm happy with how it came out!

I'm totally embarrassed by it. ha ha. I was using my hips to move my body so I wouldn't fatigue my arm so much, but it looked really weird sped up that much. ha ha

This counter turned out beautiful Bruce! I love the contrasts of the heart wood & sap wood! I have to say, after you dropped it on your leg, I totally thought you were just casually opening the garage to go outside and scream like in the old cartoons!

I dropped it at night with the door open. Hard to tell from the video, but that’s why I restrained myself so much. It left a huge bruise. Ha ha

That came out so nice. I’m going to give that Walnut oil a try. Do you use the wax also?
@BruceAUlrich

No, I’ve never tried the wax

That turned out great. I know that had to hurt when it dropped.

Bruce, it looks great. I know you said they wanted it 2" thick, do you think that thickness is necessary for a countertop? I would think 1 1/2" would be sufficient

No, I don’t think it’s necessary. It’s just what they wanted. They wanted this butcher block to stand up taller than the regular countertops.
