Hello.. im just wondering Does oneida supercell collect dust from air. I do many grinding car panels and my shop is full of dust, but i can't connect to tools. Im looking something that will collect dust from air in my shop.. What you think ?
@BruceAUlrich4 күн бұрын
No, I would not recommend the SuperCell for this. It is meant to collect at the tools. I would buy or build some type of an air cleaner/air scrubber. Jay Bates has a video about how to make one here on KZbin.

1 way to think of things that aren't worth your time. If you enjoy making it, if it drives traffic, it becomes a calling card, even if you ultimately give it away
@BruceAUlrich4 күн бұрын
You can do a certain amount of that, but I cannot work for free. I ultimately have to find things that sell if that is my goal, and this was my goal in doing this craft show.

Pull the wheel off and check the runout of the shaft with a dial indicator or just a bent wire then remount the wheel and check runout of both the side of the wheel as well as across the wheel face. Reference all measurements from the tool holder rod.

Hey Bruce, sorta off topic, but at about 6:55 you showed the corner assembly--and it looks like you've got a couple different grain directions going on--any concern about delamination from that? or is maple less prone to that problem? (I put a border on a large end-grain cutting board some time ago, and the feedback I got was that the border would come apart over time). Also, I *do* have a 3D printer and a project that could use some corner templates for this weekend--want me to print some up for you? happy to do it!
@BruceAUlrich24 күн бұрын
I don't think it will delaminate. The grain is oriented in a way that it will want to move in the up and down direction. That won't cause it to separate. I don't think. I appreciate the offer!

@BruceAUlrich28 күн бұрын
I actually don't. I moved shops/states a couple of years ago and have not had wall space for them. I've been in a much smaller shop. They do take up a good bit of wall space, but they do work well if you do a lot of countertops/panel glue ups.

Hi Bruce! So it is a few years later since you built this rock trench and I am curious how is it working out for you? I believe it will be the perfect thing for us as well as we get a lot of water from higher ground levels and we don't have the option to install expensive French drain materials. Cheers!
@BruceAUlrichАй бұрын
Hey there! We moved from that house a couple of years ago, but it was still working well at that time. We didn’t get any washing or gullying because the rocks would really slow down the water. You occasionally kind of have to dig out the sediment that gets on the rocks after a period of time, but that’s to be expected.

@NWGRАй бұрын
These are probably some of the most used jigs in my shop. I made a nice one out of baltic birch plywood that has four of my most used radii and instead of nailing or gluing the stops in place, I tapped holes in the edge of the plywood and use brass thumbscrews so I can move the stops to whichever radius I need.
@BruceAUlrichАй бұрын
Dang...I really like that idea! Plus, having four different ones on the same jig is a great idea!
@drewkareeАй бұрын
With all the other options, like 3D printing something like this, or buying radius jigs, it's good for folks to see that throwing money or "expensive tools" at a task isn't the only solution, and like you demonstrate here, with just a little bit of thought, it can be done with basic tools and ingenuity. Really appreciate this.

Late to this party but i LOVE this! My only dilemma is my wife and I i like to do puzzles that we glue and frame. Not just for fun to assmeble and then disassemble, and then assemble again at another time. Now thats just crazy. 😉 The dilemma is how to get the completed puzzle out of the box to glue and frame. I'm thinking one of the "rails" could be fastened with a hinge system that would swing down. Or swing out. Still thinking about that, open to suggestions. But love everything else about this video!
@BruceAUlrichАй бұрын
Use some tiny magnets on one of the rails and you could just remove that rail when needed.

Nice build! Pop those feet off the lathe and shoot four 2" lag screws into the top to lock down that lathe. Also, a great way to store a dust mask is with the inside facing down; keeps dust from collecting inside it. A short dowel with a tennis ball on the end (like a wig stand) works really well for this.

Bruce I mean this in the best way possible. Your shop looks like a prison, and you don't deserve to work in a prison. I would love if you fixed up your walls a bit. I'm not saying you need a massive miter saw station or anything. Just some old projects on the walls, or somthing, a logo, or even fresh paint. Either way its just my opinion I'm not gonna stop watching your videos if you never do anything to them.
@BruceAUlrich2 ай бұрын
Hey Richard. It's kind of funny that you mention this, because I do feel it sometimes. I do think our shops need to look pleasing to us, because it should be a place we "want" to be. As far as the paint, it just didn't work out, more like I didn't think about it until I had all of my stuff in there. I don't like the color in the shop...and I really don't like the drywall patches all over the place. However, it is just not practical at the time for me to take everything out and repaint at this time. I hope to be selling this house within the year. And when I get it empty, I might paint it to help it sell, but I just don't know if I see it happening before then. I do have a couple of old projects on the walls...I just don't show them in videos much. They are clamp racks, drill stations, etc. I do have a big logo sign that I need to put up in the shop. I also made this cool display for my great grandpa's old mallet made out of a piece of a wagon wheel (not sure if you saw that video). I need to dig it out of a close and hang that up somewhere.
@richardcherry567Ай бұрын
@@BruceAUlrich Yeah I have seen the mallet video its one of my favorite of yours. I remember you talking about it on the podcast too. Yeah I need to refreash my shop too but I can only do so much cause I'm renting but we should be closing on our first house soon. Good luck with your next house.

Oh man...I am definitely not the authority on pipes and fittings. I really don't know anything about SDR 32.5. I don't believe I've ever come across them. You might consider finding a cheaper alternative and heating up something and kind of forming the fittings if need be.

$350 to $3k+ for various meters with additional $175 "Calibration Plate." Looks like the most a carpenter would want is around $525. Definitely cool tho.
