Definitely fix the rot while its small, the small amount of new paint wont stand out if you fix it quickly

Plus use a little sand paper on new paint when it's done curing it will take the gloss right off and make it look old like the rest

Fish oil the rust. It will stop it getting any worse. Just get inside the panel and treat with fish oil. It’s great stuff.

Scotchbrite the hood and top then clear it to prevent actual damage. Repair the real rust on the corner of cab. Clean up the rear end and wiring. A/C in FL is a must!

That ramp truck is a diamond. Fix the rust spot and just do a band of gravel shield along the very bottom. You could even get fancy and mix the same color and paint over it with a top coat. That thing is super rare

Grind it out and have it color matched there are a ton of different shades on that cab from sun fade if you do even a half ace job it will look ight

Bruce I like both your Dodge Cummins trucks & that beautiful Trailer. When i saw that the first gen was a 5 speed, i was like Yes a 5 speed right on. MY friend Terry used to own a 1989 Dodge Cummins TD W250 5.9L with 5 speed 4x4. it had 600,000k when he gave it to his son's friend for free. Your truck almost having the same miles 517,000mi cool. I love these trucks they run for ever. I got to start a 1992 W250 5.9L with auto 6 years ago. Couldn't drive it. (don't have my license). I'm looking forward to seeing the 1st Gen again

Hydraulic dovetails are a game changer. Wouldn’t have it any different for equipment Love that this thing is a 5 speed. Take care of the rust and try to mimic the patina with some paint work

I learned how to drive in a green and white 1978 Dodge pickup. We lived on a big watermelon/sugar can/corn/farm. We also had about 200 head of cattle and we broke horses. Our house set up on a hill. It was an old plantation farmhouse from Georgia,it was pretty much like an old school mansion. My grandfather had it cut in half and brought to East Texas and rebuilt. It was a badass house. It was about a quarter mile down to the mailbox. I was Seven years old my grandfather would tell me "boy go check the mail, don't run over any of them damn cows,and slow down over the cattle guard."😆 These trucks hold a special place in my heart

Just came to say that a ramp truck is not "technically" considered a tow truck as they rarely have the equipment to recover non functioning vehicles, but are simply used to transport vehicles (functioning or not). Not to say one couldn't be fitted with the necessary equipment as many where had with detachable sling lifts at the rear of the bed (among other things). Edit: I see this one has been fitted with a winch, that's a great thing.

Paint it bright gold and green with a heavy silver flake, . And on the hood have an airbrushed painting of Dale Earnhardt fighting a crocodile, put some 20 in gold Dayton's with vogue white walls, get some curb feelers on it, some carpet on the dashboard some dingleberries on the The headliner, a 16 switch hydraulic system, and then put your name in old English letters in the back window, I think that would look pretty badass..😉😆

I'd sand that cab and fix the little rust spot and paint the entire cab the same color grey as that new trailer. It doesn't have to be some high-end paint job, just a nice cheap one. Then get someone to pinstripe it and put some decals on it.
