I was struck by the active nature of this parable. You can do all the Bible study you like, but unless you put it into practice, the structure of your Christian life collapses. As Banks says we have to put ourselves in a position to be able to help others -'Our problem is that we do not personally know anyone in need...' Religious ivory towers, anyone? I also note that in the Luke record, the house builder has to dig though the sand to get through to the rock. Meaning we have to sort through our practices and beliefs to get to the rock that our faith should be built upon. On the topic of what to do next, how about we do a bit of Bible study? 😂😂. One of the shorter letters? not sure how to structure it, though - five verse or-so chunks? This reading group is too valuable to let disappear.

@@Bruderhof Hi Rich, I was thinking it would probably take us through to Lent next year! It looks from the description there's some thought-provoking material there. The bad news is that it's only available in hard copy - I've been cutting down on my stored printed material and using a Kindle instead. I therefore probably wouldn't join you for this one - but all the best if you decide to take that route. ADW
