No matter what Don Sweeney defenders say, the Korpisalo deal will hurt the Bruins chances of fielding a more competitive team this year because that few million will be the difference between being able to add lets say... Lindholm at center, Anthony Duclair, Tyler Toffoli or Tyler Bertuzzi at wing and a Brady Skjei or a Brendan Dillon on defense They're probably going to have to settle on just adding Lindholm and either a Top 6 or. a Top 4 D man but they won't have the Cap for all threee The reality of the Korpisalo deal is, the Bruins took on a bad contract and Ottawa paid the price of a 1st round pick to move said bad contract That being said, paying your backup goalie $3M per year isn't a tragedy and it's likely Korpisalo will post better numbers closer to his career norms here in Boston versus the train wreck he was in Ottawa this past season But let's also be real here too.... Don Sweeney didn't get value for Ullmark instead, he took on a crap contract for a 1st round and got a 4th liner back in return for Ullmark Proof it was a bad contract for a 1st round pick in terms of Korpisalo? Don Sweeney's own history of having to move draft picks and or prospects to get out of bad contracts himself -Don Sweeney traded a 2nd round pick to get rid of "some" of John Moore's remaining money in the Hampus Lindholm deal -Don Sweeney, traded 2nd round d-man Ryan Lindgren in the Rick Nash deal to get NYR to take just "some" of Matt Belesky's remaining contract -Don Sweneey traded a 1st and the Bruins highest drafted player in 2018, 2nd round D-Man Axl Andresson ,to Anaheim just so they'd take back "some" of Backes's remaining money So what did Ottawa do? ' The traded Boston a 1st round pick to get Boston to take back Korpisalo's crap contract. Bottom line, end of story Thus Linus Ullmark ultimately got traded for a 4th line grinder, #gross Worst yet, they will pay more to Swayman/Korpisalo in 2024-25 than they did Swayman/Ullmark in 2023-24 and they will be worse in net while paying more to do it Calling that scenario "good" on any level is nothing short of dumb. Getting worse in goal and paying more to do it is what you actually call "bad" Sweeney should have just said no to Mark Kostelic, no to Korpisalo and instead, just took Ottawa's 2nd round pick and had Ottawa eat 100% of Ulmark's contract. Then the Bruins would have got 100% of Ullmark's $5M and they'd be able to do more in free agency this offseason But it is what is... Expect them to likely sign Elias Lindholm and either a top 6 wing or a top 4 d-men But not a Top 6 wing and Top 4 D-man because after re-signing Swayman and brining in Lindholm, they just won't have the Cap Space to do all three As for Dean Leterneau, the Bruins were probably praying that Michael Hage or Sasha Boisvert were going to fall to 25. When that didn't happen the other higher ranked centers like Cole Beudoin, Juluis Miettinen and Linus Erickson all project more as two-way, middle to box six, checking line guys Thus the only center still there at #25 with the potential to be a Top 6 scoring force if he develops was Leterneau. The Bruins don't have that high ceiling potential with ANY PLAYER and ANY POSITION in their crap farm system, let alone center. And don't say Fabian Lysell. Like Leterneau, Lysell was considered a boom or bust guy by many scouts. Right now he looks more boom than bust but the jury is still out, however, time.... It's running out on Lysell The argument can't really be made against taking Dean Leterneau where they did. Instead, it makes you wonder if the Bruins may have been better off considering moving Lysell and or the 1st round pick to acquire a more established 2c or Top 6 winger who can step in right now and deliver Top 6 scoring. But that's all moot now, they made the pick and Leterneau has a lot of upside, even if he's years away For UFAs again it'll be likely be Elias Lindholm then one of either Duclair, Toffoli or Bertuzzi at wing. Beyond that, maybe a bottom pair D man like Marco Scandella, resigning someone like Danton Heinen or maybe bringing in someone like Ryan Lomberg from Florida as a bottom 6 piece to replace the tenacity they lost in Jacob Lauko OR They'll sign just Elias Lindholm and add a Top 4D like Brady Skjei and maybe some other bottom 6 PTO level guy or a bottom rung third pair type like Macro Scandella They just don't have the Cap Space to re-sign Swayman and to bring in Lindholm Then also sing a UFA Top 6 Wing and a UFA Top 4 D-man Had they moved all of Ullmark's contract they would have had the Cap for all four of those moves, instead they are going to have to make some tough choices and hope they chose wisely. That's basically what every other NHL team has to do so it's in Don Sweneey's (gul) hands now 🤣

Do not mention Zaca in the same breath with Bergeron. He is not nor will ever be anything even approximating that this team frustrates the hell out of me. There are things that we definitely need to compete in today’s league not four years from now, but for the next two years, and since we dumped Ullmark we have to sign Swayman. Let’s not kid anybody he is in the catbird seat as they say. Also, what about Stamkos? You’re not even mentioning him.

How come the Kings didn't resign Korpisalo? 4 million dollars a year is chicken shit. In his entire career he has started 40+ games ONCE, and that was last year, and Ottawa got rid of him to us. These Old farts going by short sample crap, like the Play-off games against the Lightning years ago with Joonas. 11 games with the Kings, well at 74 I still don't ramble on about good ole days.

should have traded sway for some #1 center and signed ullie to 3 year extension!. Now we are stuck with the worst goalie in the league korpasalo and sway can blackmail the bruins for what ever he wants! Remember sway has never been a starter for a full season!
