Coyle is on pace for an 8 point season. Nice.

Don't regret losing him, regret that he wasn't traded for a right handed right winger of equal value.

Trade Swayman while he’s still worth something for a couple wingers who can actually score goals, higher a new coach and put every single player on this team on the trading block. Start the rebuild now so we don’t have to waste next season.

I do think they might regret letting DeBrusk go. I know he was streaky at times, but there were other elements of his game they certainly miss. What about Heinen ?

How could their offensive struggles be that shocking? Sure, they are an extra layer of putrid right now, however the Bruins were a .500 team from February - May of last year in addition to be one of the NHL's worst 5x5 teams This year? They are a below .500 team and they are once again, bad at 5x5? How can this come as a surprise when this is what they did with their flawed offense that got exposed the 2nd half of last season and again when they got their annual hammering by Florida in the post season yet again.... They added a $5M penalty machine in Nikita Zadorov. No help on offense there They added a few more size and aggression pieces in Kastelic and Jones, neither of which will solve their power play or Top 6 scoring EVER!!! They swapped out Debrusk's Top 6 wing offense to bring in a 2c caliber player in Elias Lindholm which added a real 2C to the team and then birthed a Top 6 RW problem with Debrusk departing and not being replaced on any level They also got career years out of Frederic, Coyle and Geekie last season. Three inconsistent guys their entire careers. So what was more likely to happen? More career years out of those three or would it have been more realistic to expect a regression by all three back to their norms? Seems like an easy answer The Farm System stinks and it was clear that no one from Providence would be good enough to even crack their bad lineup at forward and what happened? Exactly that, they are flawed offensive team and their best offensive prospects in Providence still couldn't answer the bell in the pre-season All of that AND they stunk the final four months of last season AND they made next to ZERO changes to their struggling offensive core and then there is this BIG surprise they are struggling to score again? Why? Of course they are far worse than they should be but there's also this, even at their ceiling should they right the ship, they are nothing more than a low playoff seed that will get bounced early in the postseason baring DRASTIC changes in-season One Top Line guy in Pasta which means they still don't have a real 1C or a real 1LW Three 2nd line players in a near aged out Marchand who is a 2LW now, a 2C in Lindholm and an inconsistent, soft Pavel Zacha Then a gaggle of bottom 6 guys who struggle to score consistently And although Zadorov, Lohrei and Lindholm bring other good things to the ice, all three are below average defenders most shifts and that's not even getting into the fact that Charlie McAvoy has been near absolute crap for about a year and a half now Cap Jail, Crap Farm System and they can't keep pissing away 1st and 2nd round draft picks fixing Sweeney's mistakes or adding to flawed rosters that get hammered every post season anyway so how are they going to fix this mess? Who knows but Don Sweeney has had a decade now to do it and the team is more rotten than it's ever been under his leadership Is it coincidence that since the Hall of Fame Core he inherited of Bergeron Marchand Krejci Pasta Chara Rask and Krug all retired, moved on or just go primarily and older and slower that the talent on the roster has fallen off a cliff? Homers and Sweeney Apologists. The Patriots had a real dynasty. The won multiple championships during their epic run and even their dynasty blew up and they had to reset the front office, coaching staff and roster Sorry Homers, Don Sweeney can't build a winning playoff roster to save his life, the farm system is trash, they're in Cap Jail again and he's now going to move onto his third coach in five years, which is always a sign that management is the problem more than anything else The Bruins aren't this bad, however, at some point a new core needs to be built and based on his near 10 year track record of building teams, this is not the job for Don Sweeney. Can Sweeney, if given a ready made roster of Hall of Fame talent compete fairly well until those players he inherits flames out? Sure, he's proven that. Build a new, competitive core where it's only his draft picks, his traded for guys and his UFAs leading the way.... Not so much They have no way out of this because they don't have the assets to fix the mess and even if they did, does anyone really want Don Sweeney to be the guy picking the groceries moving forward? The best thing they can do is just keep Montgomery, let the players figure it out and hope for the best Maybe they figure it out, maybe they don't, however, if they are still barely sniffing or holding onto a playoff spot come February, the wise move would be to sell of guys, add draft capital and as many young, near ready NHL prospects as possible and try to quickly reset next year or the following year for a new run Adding to this current mess would just be dumb and letting Sweeney, Neely and Montgomery be here in 2025-26 would just be asking for more of the same, which is why all three should be let go barring a HUGE turn around this year

I’m sure he’s laughing his ass off right now. They think they saved the team by trading him but it was a stupid mistake. All these big paid players have disappeared from the score sheet. Debrusk wasn’t the problem. Laziness is.
