One of my friends has a staffie (she is about 10 years old) and my friend leaves the radio or TV on for her when she goes to work so you're not alone on that one.

She's so adorable, I have 2 border collies, I did have 3 but lost him 3yrs ago to epilepsy. Regarding traveling in the car, just take her on short trips and increase them until she is feeling less anxious. Some dogs just don't like traveling, both of mine are fine, they go on the bus as I don't drive. I'm glad your crate training her, all mine are crate trained, when they were Margo's age i actually put them in the crate for sleep time and closed the door, that way they know they have a safe place to go to anytime of the day for some quiet. What perfect timing! About 4 hours ago my 8 week old puppy buddy came home🥰 he’s a lovely golden retriever and we got him after loosing our beautiful 12 year old jack Russel, DJ, earlier this year. I can’t wait for the mayhem x

We have 5 pugs. We got Arabella and fell in love and got another 6 months later, then we decided to have puppies ourselves and Arabella had EIGHT puppies and because we are insane we kept 2 and then last but not least we got Huxley! So in 2 years we had 5 puppies! It’s amazing but it’s also so hard and a hugeeeee commitment. Ours are now 5, 5, 4, 4 and 3 and would we have another puppy ….. no 😂😂😂😂 really lovely to see your experience and we love her name and also she’s a very lucky girl being thoroughly spoilt and loved (thanks to your gorgeous Lucy) xxxxx biggest compliment to Lucy is to get another because the hole Lucy left was huge. Arabella came in to our lives when we lost our golden retriever and we’re heart broken and she bought us so much love and joy lots of love and merry Christmas from Arabella 5, Isadora 5, Charlotte 4, Rafferty 4 and Huxley 3 xxxxx

Best thing we found to help pup in a car…feed her meals a couple of times in the car ( stationary) so she associates that as a happy place. Then after a few days take a short drive to a nice place where she can walk and have fun and gradually build up journey. We were advised this by a trainer for our pup who was terrified in the car and this worked! He now loves the car!!

She’s got such a lovely temperament, it was lovely to see a day in the life with Margot , we’ve got our little 14 week old Cockerlierpoo pup Kona and he’s currently full of beans 90% of the time and very bitey especially with feet! So we’re looking forward to getting him started with puppy classes and seeing him blossom like Margot :) 🐶

I have 2 bichons, they're both 6 and 2 totally different personalities. We rehomed one and she'll come and cuddle and sleep on us whereas the other who we had from a puppy is Mr independent but loved a cuddle as a puppy when he learnt to get on the couch 😂 as margot is half bichon, she might be the same!

For car journeys id try another snuffle mat wit treats and a small plastic bottle with a drop of water in it. Great for teething on and crinkley / noisy too x

My whippet puppy had terrible car anxiety, he would work himself into such a state he would always be sick. Rivers of sick. Oceans. Someone told me to feed him his meals in the car to help him associate it with a positive thing and that going in the car doesn't mean we are going to drive and it's going to be terrible for him. I can't tell you how BONKERS you look going out of your house with a puppy and bowl of food in the evening in your slippers to your car but it WORKED. The other thing was I also had a puppy car seat which he just never got on with, no matter how plush and cosy it was. I ended up replacing it with a dog bed that he slept in in the house (so it had his smell and he had safe memories with it) and used a dog seat belt that goes around the head rest and attaches to a harness (not a collar!) on the dog for safety. Finally I have a 1 year old pup who settles immediately into his baby bed when we get in the car and is no longer car sick! (if you're dealing with puppy car sickness their inner ears aren't fully formed until around 5 months so they are usually experiencing vertigo in the car until around this age, mine stopped around 6 months) GOOD LUCK!

Yay! Weirdly, and I have no idea why, the kids just wanted a new dog at some point called Margot. We thought it sounded very fancy! We like human names for dogs and cats (we've had a Barbara, Peter and Lucy) So when she came that's what she was called! x
