In Brazil Crayola is very expensive! But we have Faber-Castell with conical tips, and it’s cool because the pens have two colors, one color in a side and other color in the another side!

Hi Sarah, thanks so much for this video! I'd been looking forward to it. :) I'd love to try the Staedtler Magic Erase but I can't find them anywhere on the internet! I think the best brush pens that don't fray are Crayola Supertips- I have the 50 pack and love that there are so many colours to choose from. Also, I don't have to worry about the paper I'm using with these. I had a pack of the Mala markers from Ikea that I gave to a friend that wanted to start hand lettering. :)

I have the staedtler triplus highlighter, I noticed the purple color highlighter frayed, because It’s my fave color from all of them, so I used it so much. And I use smooth papers from Rhodia, my writing position was correct and I didn’t pressed either too hard, but I highly recommend the staedtler triplus highlighter, it’s multifunctional and worth the money! ❤❤️🫶🏻✨🥰 (btw I love ur videos so much! It inspires me to do handlettering, and I watch ur videos, Thanks for making them, I learned so much about handlettering and it corrected my mistakes ❤❤❤)

Do you have any tips how to prevent Watercolor brush pen like Tombow dual brush, to fray? I have bought myself a few colors recently and i am a little worried to use them on watercolor paper, its kind of ironic for watercolor brush pen not being able to handle watercolor paper texture 😥😥

The best way to not let them fray is using smooth paper. But if you want to use them on watercolor paper, you could label which pens you use on watercolor paper and which ones are only for smooth paper. They will fray eventually even if you only use them on smooth paper! I do have a video with 3 different ways to blend Tombows that won’t fray. Like just use the ink from the bullet tip and blend with a waterbrush. Or use bristol smooth paper. It’s thicker and can almost give the look of watercolor but it’s really smooth!

Cool video! Some of the clips were desaturated like the Crayola supertips part but thankfully, the recap shows their saturated colors. The staedtler magic erase looks fun to try but the (default) staedtler triplus color has a shorter brush than the textsurfer so mine has frayed slightly. Also, I agree that the Kuretake brush pens are the best in here especially the brushes can be blended with each other (the ink does not stay on the brush!) but it's too pricey so I only bought the primary colors and a black. Looking forward to your video for journals! Also, do you test the lightfastness of your brush pens?

I noticed that about the desaturation! I don’t know why it did that just with some clips and I couldn’t figure out how to fix it. Anyway, having the primary set is a great option since you can blend them! I don’t test the lightfastness. I’ve only noticed which ones fade that I’ve had hanging near a sunny window. Since most of them are closed in journals now, I don’t worry as much about it.

You have forgotten the pentel sign brush pen. It is nylon nib and you can use it in any paper🤗🤗🤗
