Brush Size Confusion!

If you've ever tried to decide on a new watercolor brush, you have probably been astounded at the differences in size, shape, and even--maybe especially!--how those sizes are rated. This is not a logical situation, here! Not exactly standardized...
So here are just a few to peek at, and a bit of advice at the end...

I was recently thinking about you Cathy! So happy to see you posted a new video. I used to watch your videos many years ago when I was a young teenager; seeing your art inspired me to buy a cheap watercolor set and I remember making a lot of different small travel kits and sketchbooks! Thank you for posting! I always love hearing your voice as you impart wisdom! The Loew-Cornell brushes have been my favorite for many years - and I was dismayed to find that I could no longer find them online, anywhere!? I’m wondering if they have completely stopped making them? Very sad if that is the case.

Nancy, have you looked at Dick Blick? I found them in their catalog I think...

Unfortunately, I believe that they have stopped making those brushes. When I have googled them, some places, like Dick Blick, will show they have them, but when you follow the link, they are not available. So sad! I have found a brush that is quite similar: KingArt Max Round 9020 series. They have that wonderful crisp point that I so enjoyed with the Loew-Cornell brand. I’m still hoping that Loew-Cornell will go into production again tho!
